Pickpick

Second in the new bunch of Munsch. Definitely not as intricate a story as his early stories, but it's still super cute. #19-2024.

In the Small, Small Pond was the Caldecott winner in 1994. There‘s isn‘t much of a story line to this book, but has beautiful illustrations and reminds me of Erik Carlson

I think this book would be best used by young children, I believe the sound words would capture their attention and keep them engaged in the story, the plot is simple but the catchy story and bright pictures would be great for young children

Pickpick

This book uses onomatopoeia to explain to children the different life a young girl finds in a pond, this book won the Caldecott in 1994, the illustrations are very bright and would capture the attention of young readers

“sweep, swoop, swallows scoop“ not only does this rhyme it also uses alliteration which allows for readers to see both literary devices.

This book is short and sweet and can be used in any classroom. I would personally use this book when talking about rhyming with any grade level.
