pickVery light pick. Caveat that romance novels really aren‘t my genre. My favorite thing about this is just that it was a poly romance. I haven‘t actually seen a story yet where a poly couple was written in a way that couldn‘t be problematic or several levels. But I‘m more interested in these stories existing right now, and starting to normalize open relationships, and starting to show the vast range of ways to live a poly lifestyle.

bailedI loved the idea of this romance: sapphic women and nonbinary person! Polyamory! Fancy cocktails! But I am finding the characters pretty bland. Plus, I am potty training my toddler and I accidentally put my copy of the book down on the beach in some of her pee 🙃
This is just a small sample of proof that I have a problem. Between all the Amazon Stuff Your Kindle events this month, Detroit Book Festival, and my personal inclination to treat books like Pokemon (gotta catch ‘em all!!!)… my TBR stack has become a leaning tower 🤷🏿♀️ 📚
Lily Gold is nurturing the fluffy, romance, comfort-read moment I‘m having. A touch of angst, a healthy dose of found-family, liberal seasoning of spice… 👩🏿🍳💋
pickTriple Sec by T.J. Alexander is the story of Mel who enters a polyamorous relationship with Bebe and Kade. Mel is a divorced bartender making her way in NYC while Bebe and Kade live in a very different world.
This story did a good job exploring this type of relationships and the conversations that the MCs had were honest and raw. I especially the loved the cabin scene making a fire.
