Picked this up because I heard about it on a podcast. Mel is a bartender and she is flirting with this woman at the bar and finds out she‘s married. Then she finds out they‘re poly. At the same time she‘s trying to keep everything casual because she‘s scarred from her divorce. She also learns about this cocktail/bartender contest and is working towards creating a cocktail for it. I liked this one!
Very light pick. Caveat that romance novels really aren‘t my genre. My favorite thing about this is just that it was a poly romance. I haven‘t actually seen a story yet where a poly couple was written in a way that couldn‘t be problematic or several levels. But I‘m more interested in these stories existing right now, and starting to normalize open relationships, and starting to show the vast range of ways to live a poly lifestyle.

Not actually sure what neighborhood we‘re supposed to be in, but I‘m currently hanging out in one of those tiny little rent controlled NYC apartments inherited from someone‘s grandma that conveniently seem to pop up everywhere in novels and tv shows but are inconveniently seemingly nowhere to be found in real life.
Me and my kitty foot warmer are starting this queer poly romance for #hyggehour tonight. Not quite sure what I think of it yet, but I overdid it today so candy fiction seems like the perfect medicine. #litsolace @AllDebooks @Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie @jenniferw88
I loved the idea of this romance: sapphic women and nonbinary person! Polyamory! Fancy cocktails! But I am finding the characters pretty bland. Plus, I am potty training my toddler and I accidentally put my copy of the book down on the beach in some of her pee 🙃
Triple Sec by T.J. Alexander is the story of Mel who enters a polyamorous relationship with Bebe and Kade. Mel is a divorced bartender making her way in NYC while Bebe and Kade live in a very different world.
This story did a good job exploring this type of relationships and the conversations that the MCs had were honest and raw. I especially the loved the cabin scene making a fire.
Book 148 of the year.
This is my second book by TJ Alexander and I had so much fun! I had never read a queer polyamorous story before and I feel that this was a great introduction.
I enjoyed all the characters in this book and since I am a sucker for friendships, really loved Daniel and Mel‘s banter and the development of Kade and Mel‘s relationship.
