I love this book! I think every primary teacher needs a copy. It has a wheel of emotion in the back, which would go well with a lesson I already do. I want posters from this book for my classroom. Why am I so excited? When I was a student getting my MIT, someone told me that boys can't express their feelings. Kids need to see themselves! #everybodybooks

I'm not a fan of rhyming books, but the kids love them. I am a fan of books that feature POC and differing abilities as well as women in untraditional roles. If the artwork reminds you of historic WPA murals, the illustrator has achieved their purpose. #everybodybooks #weneeddiversebooks

I ❤️ #everybodybooks that kids can identify with. I think I'll give by students materials to create their own activist signs. We could just learn some bat facts & dispel myths. Or use this page for inspiration to find out how kids can make a difference.

Run out and get a copy of this book and donate it to your local library. It's really a message to publishers to publish more diverse books. Purchasing a copy is the stamp it needs, the vote, the endorsement. School libraries are especially underfunded and rarely see new books. Loaded with precepts. I was worried it would be another adults-love-kids-get-bored kind of picture book, but it is filled with love and gorgeous illustrations. Vocabulary: unfair, unjust, cruelty, injustice, inequality, hate, hurt, and racism, as well as their antonyms; powerful words that will give children the tools to face hard challenges with grace and dignity. #everybodybooks #weneeddiversebooks

Adorable! I love how Oona learns that more everyone appreciate the same things. Shark needed quiet calm reassurance. I like how this book addressed the needs of an introvert, the need to belong coupled with the anxiety of what that takes. Perfect #everybodybooks

The One and Only Ivan is a great book. Not many people know about its nonfiction picture book companion. This is a picture of my son with his statue at the Pt Defiance zoo. He never lived there. While he was caged at a mall, the zoo animals were in tiny pens, not much better. At the time of his rescue people realized that we needed to improve how we treat animals. I grew up in Tacoma with Ivan, his story says a lot about us. #everybodybooks

My library needs more diverse picture books. This is a fun and beautiful sharing of a Passover when a stray kitty finds a home. The book includes information about Passover for people unfamiliar with the traditions. #everybodybooks #weneeddiversebooks

Another snuff story by Jon Klassen. Actually very philosophical: no one wants anything more than what someone else has. Not to be confused with envy - this book illustrates mimetic desire: wanting to make a phone call because someone is using a phone. An echophenomena like yawning this book about the best spot could be used to teach about empathy. #everybodybooks
