In Saint X, Schaitkin alternates between whodunit, love letter to Caribbean islands, and character study, using a combination of the MC perspective, a third-person narrative, and snippets from other players in the mystery. She spins a complex tale, with lush descriptions of her locations. I liked it, but had some reservations about some aspects of the writing and plot. ⬇️

I really enjoyed reading this book. The writing was beautiful and the story flowed nicely. It is a heavy story and does address important and serious topics, so be aware of that as you read this beautiful story. I highly recommend picking it up when it hits shelves on February 18, 2020.
