I loved this book! The multiple mysteries, dual timelines, strong female friendships, and the so sad ghost story was all spot on. Highly recommend this book and this author. I read The Sundown Motel first, and I think I still like that one more than this one, but this one is a very close second.

This book was so well-crafted from start to finish. I loved the characters, especially Paris, and the hard-hitting themes that Hillier talks about were done perfectly. Overall, a great thrilling read for summer.

The ending of this story was well worth the buildup. I truly fell in love with Eva's character, and the friendship she builds with Liz is beautiful. The pacing was a little slower than what I was hoping for, but by the end, and knowing how everything connects, it pays off.

I really enjoyed this book. It started out as a typical Romance, but as the story went along it changed into a more mature book. It talked about important issues alongside the romance and cute dog.

In April 2020 I read Beach Read and abdolutley loved it! So when this one came out I had to pick it up. I enjoyed the friends to lovers storyline, all the trips they went on, and them ultimately dealing with their own mental health. I wasn't a huge fan of the slower pace and not having the duel perspectives between Poppy and Alex, I tend to like seeing both perspectives, but overall a great, light read.

Even though it's a slow-paced book, all of the characters and intertwining storylines is worth it in the end. A very satisfying read. :)

I really enjoyed this book. It has romance, Scotish history and family lineages, drama, adventure and a little bit of fantasy. Really, it has everything a reader would want in a book. Such a fast-paced book, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

The beginning is slow, but the pay off is so worth the wait. This is one book where the slow burn was done well and kept me turning the page to see how it would all turn out.

When I first saw this book I was a little hesitant to pick it, because recently I've been having difficulty getting into Contemporary books. However, by the time I got to the halfway point I couldn't put it down. The family drama and secrets sprinkled throughout the story drove the book for me. Also, the different character perspectives and the heart of the family shining through made it a fun reading experience. Excited for more books from Lange.

After reading "Home Before Dark" last year I had to pick this one up, and I wasn't disappointed! I loved all the twists and turns this story took me on, and the characters were so great. Getting to the end of the book was so bittersweet, because I was happy to finish it but sad that the ride was over. I highly recommend this book and will be reading more books from this author.

What a perfect Holiday book. I'm not a fan of the movie Groundhog Day, so I was ready to be annoyed with it, fortunately, that was not the case. This was such a fun, hilarious and heartwarming story with fantastic characters to go with it. After this year, I needed to end on a high note and this book delivered. Christina Lauren did it again! 😊🥰❤🎄🛷

It was a sweet romance to get me out of my reading slump. I loved the characters, the topic of mental health and the slow burn romance. I enjoyed the time jumps that show the characters' lives intermingling without them realizing it. It was also nice that they worked on themselves before bringing each other into their lives; a very adult thing to do. Overall, a perfect light read for the holidays.

Anxious People: A Novel | Fredrik Backman
Pickpick

This story had a slow build, but the pay off at the end is worth it. The great thing about this book was the eight characters all being connected through a singular event, as well as having a few side characters connected without realizing it. Backman wove these characters' stories and serious topics of depression, anxiety and suicide in a masterful way. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and may look into reading his other books.

Overall, this was a great story. I liked the spy plot and I really love Charlie's character. I just wish we would've had more of his backstory and would've squashed his insecurities by the end of the story. I wasn't a fan or Roz, she needed more character development. I also wish Weaver's character had a better end to the story. Other than that, this was a beautiful story and I recommend it to avid readers.

This was a very exciting and enjoyable read! I loved how Ximena's character developed over the course of the novel and how it never seemed rushed or forced. Everytime she would remind herself who her enemy was, the "Star Wars" quote "Only the Sith deal in absolutes" kept popping into my head. I also loved the romance in this, and how it too never felt forced. Overall, a wonderful read and I'm looking forward to more books by this author.

Lauranahe I liked all her little animals. They were cute! 4y
Romancegirl Ikr?! I was so heartbroken when her Jaguar was killed. But having them in the fighting scene was very clever and I'm glad they were in it helping Ximena. It would be so cool to have the moon thread ability that brings things to life! 😁 Which of her animals was your favorite? 😊 4y

I absolutely loved this book!!! The first KC book I read was "Things you save in a Fire" and I wasn't a fan of it, but this book was fantastic! I loved the conflict between Maggie. her sister and their mother. KC really knows how to mix and balance a lighthearted romance with difficult personal struggles and heated family drama. I would highly recommend this one for anyone who is looking for a romance with depth.

This was a cute story with a few heart aching moments sprinkled in. I enjoyed the characters throughout the story, I only wish we could've known Weylyn directly through his perspective instead of getting to know him through the eyes of everyone else. Overall, it was a nice summer read even though the pacing slowed down at times.

I really wanted to love this book. The cover grabbed my attention and then after reading the synopsis I was excited to dive in. Unfortunately the main character was flat and the story didn't grab my attention. After two months of going back and forth and getting half way through I decided to bail. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. However, as a romance novel, the chemistry between Ryan and Avery totally missed the mark. I enjoyed the gymnastics topic and I liked reading about Hallie's evolution over the course of the novel. As a romance it wasn't my cup of tea. I like more steam and chemistry between the two people falling in love, and this was too much of a rebound/instalove story for my liking.

At first I had a difficult time getting into the story, and in the mind of the main character. However, as the story took off, I became invested in Lo's perspective as she investigates a disappearance on an elite Yacht. The twist was somewhat surprising and the ending was fantastic. An overall thrilling read, perfect for summer time.

This was such a beautifully written tragedy, of how a woman who time and time again rise from the ashes into the hearts of her fans. It's an inside look at the not so glamorous side of being rich and famous, and the price one must pay to stay in the spotlight. An immensely enjoyable read with great characters that you love to hate, and topics from social issues that were occurring at the time this story is set in.

I normally watch movies and TV shows that are similar to this book, Jack Ryan and Shooter, but I have never read a Political Thriller before. I loved how it starts right at the beginning of the action and doesn't stop until the very end. I also enjoyed how the Politicians and leaders in Washington DC are portrayed as being corrupt to the core, and how the Presidency is bought with money and power rather than votes. Overall, an enjoyable read.

After reading this book I feel like I have a better understanding of what they did in the movie. I'm not a fan of some of the choices the film makers made, and some scenes were hard to read, but I can understand on some level the choices they made. I'm glad I read this book, and would recommend it to anyone who felt like they missed out on a lot of context from the film.

This book was fantastic! It takes a deep dive at how someone can get into a toxic and mentally abusive relationship with a person. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel! I liked how the story was told alternating between the novel Maggie's father wrote about the house, and the present with Maggie revisiting the house as an adult. I also loved the ghosts that are in the story, all the spooky things that occur within the story, as well as the twists and turns this story takes. This was a well-written thrill-ride of a book, that kept me on my toes and guessing until the very end.

This was a very cute book. I still like "The Kiss Quotient" with Stella and Michael more, but this was a great second book! I loved the relationship between Khai and Esme and how their love blossoms over the course of the book. Not much else to say without getting into spoilers other than I hope the third book, if there's a third one, is about Quan finding forever love. I really enjoy his character and hope we get his love story next!

The men who make up the bromance book club are hilarious and insightful when it comes to Gavin and his journey to win back his wife. Along with a unique way to look at romance novels in helping to see the world from the eyes of women. This rom-com is the perfect book to kick off summer reading. 😄❤

This book brings on a new way to look at how someone can he framed for a heinous crime. While I have some personal issues with how the multiple character POVs were handled, and how the excitement dropped off once the beginning part was over. It was, overall, a decent reading experience, with solid main characters and an interesting plot line. A perfect ending to my May reading month.

I absolutely loved this story! The first 50 or so pages were a little slow as the story was being set up, however, as the story kicked off the thrill-ride began. The characters are written so well that they do the job of making the reader either hate or love them. The mystery thriller elements were exciting to read, especially as it all was being pieced together concluding a wonderful story.

I am not an avid reader of memoirs, nor am I a fan of them. However, I made an exception to my fictional fantasy worlds, for this witty and clever tale of one introvert's haunting tale of trying to extrovert for one year. This is one memoir everyone should read about the trials and tribulations of an introvert being social while not dying of embarrassment in public.

As a story it was pretty good, nothing fantastic, but it kept my interest and did its job of entertaining me. That being said I was incredibly disappointed with the story. I've heard people go on and on about Revan and Bastila's story, so when I picked this book up I expected a continuation of this amazing story. What I got was a decent story filled with bitter sweet moments. I liked the characters I just didn't like what happened with them.

This book's title says it all because it is ugly while being wonderful at the same time. The first half was uncomfortable, but the second half is when I began sighing with relief and rooting for Wavy and Kellen. Also, the end has Renee in it and she quickly became my favorite character because I related to her and was saying what she was saying about the Kellen and Wavy situation.
Overall, this is a beautifully written and thought-provoking read.

This story was a joy to read. The imagery used to describe the "Titanic" and the way the different classes were explained was incredible, it felt like you were experience it with the characters. I also really liked the Biblical references made throughout, especially the overarching story between CJ and his two sons being the Prodigal Son story. Overall, a wonderful and beautiful retelling of the tragic "Titanic" story.

What a light and fun book to read! I loved every page of this book; the relationships were fun and honest, especially between January and Gus, the bet between them was fun, and the serious moments in the story were given their space and respect, but they didn't over power and bring down the overall mood of the story. What I loved the most about this book was seeing how January and Gus impacted each other's character in positive ways. 💕 this book!

This book was sad and heartbreaking, yet hopeful. Lydia's grief was written really well that at times I cried with her at the unfairness of it all. However, toward the end when she has her moment of insanity that's when I got annoyed with her. One of the best part of the book was when the rose colored glasses come off and she is able to move forward with life. I also loved the ending, so heartwarming and hopeful! Overall, a great read!

Although there were a few scenes that could've been left out and exchanged for a few that weren't in the book, it was an overall good story. I will admit that I watched the movie before reading it, mainly because I hadn't realized it was a book at the time. Kate Murphy does an excellent job of pointing out one's flaws in how you listen, in a way that doesn't make you feel like a terrible person, and then shows you how to do it better. She also did some major research for this book, talking to many professionals in various fields of communication including, a retired CIA Agent. Overall an enjoyable and well written book.
