This book opens with one of my favorite passages ever. It's a short story all on it's own.

pickMore rereads of another series I utterly adore.
It's single-point of view, which is perfect for the arc across the books. Not only does Cooper change, but you watch how he views Park change as well. In the 1st book he thinks Park is all but perfect. By the end of the 2nd, we see Cooper realize Park is also flawed, but it helps rather than hurts their relationship.
Also, we get a fantastic mental health arc.
pick(Not the tagged book) this was such an amazing and empowering book about Gloria who finds herself dumped by her husband for a younger model and then thrust out of the dystopian bunker complex into what she believes will be a nightmare dystopia. In fact, she‘s being lied to and she has to figure out what matters most to her. Check trigger warnings for sure, but it‘s overall an excellent read.

pickI woke up the other day & thought "i am ready to be hurt again" and immediately started my reread. I remembered the basics but had forgotten so much- and going on Cooper's emotional journey (he's really going through it!!!) was SO GOOD. Will I be brave enough to move on to book 3... where it very much looks like the boys will be going through it again - but this time with Oliver's family being the ones entangled in a murder investigation? TBD.
All of my Suzanne Wright books definitely count as #SteamyLove 😘😏😳🥵

pickChicago during the roaring 20s with cat shapeshifters, mobs, and speakeasies. Absolutely fantastic!
The ending was a bit quick and hand waving but I didn't really mind that. The romance was sweet and had a natural build up.
This is part of the Hexworld universe which I've not read, or I've read one, but you don't need to have read them to understand the book.
