So good! I was fascinated by this view into the lives of an immigrant family and those in their orbit in NYC during the Great Recession. The writing was beautiful and kept me thinking about the characters even in the middle of a stressful job transition. That is a sign of a great read! Ireadkidlit Oh Jules, you‘re a speed reader! I‘m only to chapter 14, but loving it so far. Bit of synchronicity happened too— “People hanging out in bars made no sense to Neni. Why would anyone want to stand in a crowded place for hours, screaming at the top of their voice to chat with a friend, when they could sit comfortably in their own home and talk to there friend in a calm voice?” 10 minutes before I‘d read that, I‘d said the exact same thing to Brad! 6y
