Casey and I are back together for maybe as long as a month and a half! Whee!
I didn‘t like Jenny Colgan‘s first adult boarding school book, so I‘m surprised to report I‘m enjoying the follow-up. There‘s still a fair amount of fat-shaming, but she does delve into issues around disordered eating this time. We‘ll see how that plays out in the back half. The humour seems less cruel in this one, too. I hope that growth‘ll be a series-spanning trend.
pickJust like with the first one, I can't get over the VERY 2000s obsession with being skinny and how that makes one "hotter," but at least restricted eating actually led to an eating disorder for one of the girls, as it would irl.
