Since I missed yesterday‘s prompt, I‘m going for double Ds today! (Okay, that sounded better in my head!) 😆 Out Of My Brain is about a #DifferentlyAbled girl & told through #Diary entries. The follow-up (tagged) is still in my TBR.

Such a great book about navigating friendship, family and grief as a young teen. My 13 year old theater kid loved the setting of a summer theater camp. The musical the camp is putting on? Wicked! (Kudos to the publisher for excellent timing. 😁) Swinarski captures tween/teen voices so well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was putting off this volume of Lumberjanes because its the penultimate! I have loved this series, except the artwork is done by different artists through the series & some isn‘t great. #frightclub #hauntedshelf
Ms Kelly knows how to write a tale. These characters are sympathetic and become even more thoughtful as the story progresses. The love of knowledge and commitment of the girls towards the cranes was inspiring and the adults were mature and did not treat the girls with condescension. This is a must read author.
I would recommend this story for middle school aged children!
This is a fun and quirky book that mixes romances and supernatural twists. The charming characters and summer camp vibe setting will keep children hooked. Perfect for children who like lighthearted fantasy stories!
“Sometimes, the scariest monsters aren't the ones with fangs, but the ones that hide inside you.“
This book can be used in my classroom to explore themes of belonging, identity, and friendship, resonating with students' personal experiences. It also provides opportunities for discussing character development and how supernatural elements can be used to explore real-world emotions and relationships.
