I honestly don‘t know how to review this book - loved the use of Chinese & Malaysian mythology juxtaposed with Taylor Swift playing on the radio but felt like I was missing some information (like accidentally reading a sequel first - but I didn‘t) but the overall vibe was great - and I‘m interested in seeing if Rupert manages to pay off his debts.

A thousand traumas you say…

So far my decision to borrow whatever Libby had by Cassandra Khaw is going marvellously.

This was a weak pick for me. I liked the story but it was a bit over-the-top. Well, how else could you describe a noir mystery featuring Lovecraftian monsters and a chef who specializes in human flesh?

The sacred number three.
Three days.
Thee days, three times.
The fewest number of legs an inanimate object can have to balance itself is three.
It‘s the number of balance.
Earth, wind, fire.
Body, mind, soul.
Animal, vegetable, mineral.
Birth, life, death.
This comes up in so many traditions.
This is a universal truth.
Neil Gaiman is an absolute genius.

GingerAntics Oh, and death and resurrection. Resurrection is not the intellectual property of any tradition or religion. It‘s everywhere. Hell, even that is a triad. Life, death, resurrection. Bam. No wonder Celtic wisdom comes in threes. #triad #resurrection 6y
