Charlotte's Web is a classic children's book that I recommend every teacher has in their classroom. This Newbery Award winning book is about a pig named Wilbur. He was in danger of being slaughtered by a farmer when his friend Charlotte, a spider, tries to help him. This book would be a great IR for students in older elementary school. This book would go great with EL 3 (encourage self-talk). #ucflae2414sp21

tclivio This book also goes along well with the UDL 9.1 (promote expectations and belief that optimize motivation) https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/unit-plans/teaching-content/charlottes-web-t... This website includes great lesson plans, activities, and worksheets while reading this book. 3y
DrSpalding Scholastic is a fantastic resource and your universal design principle works well with the themes shared in this classic novel. Every elementary student should hear/read this book! 3y

Pickpick

This RF book “David Jumps In” by Alan Woo and Katty Maurey is about the first day of school! It can help raise confidence levels of our students and the overall message is that you should just “jump right in” in life! #UCFLAE2414SP21 https://www.getepic.com/book/80841917/david-jumps-in this site has a read aloud as well as other book information. It would also be cool to teach the students the game “elastic skip” from the book!

ReaganT This book works well with ESOL strategy 3- encourage self-talk (positive thinking) and UDL principle 9.1 promote expectations and beliefs that optimize motivation! 3y
DrSpalding Really like the message that this book conveys. This would be a quality realistic fiction title to read aloud during the first week of school. Your English learner strategy and universal design principle work beautifully. Nice alignment. 3y
