This story follows a color scheme which makes the illustration seem very uniform and flow together. The illustrations are not too complex and easy to interpret, which would be great for younger grades. It is very cute and entertaining

This book is about a crocodile that loves watermelon and eats it for every meal of every day. Then the crocodile realizes that it swallowed a watermelon seed and thinks a watermelon will grow inside of its stomach and it will turn into a watermelon. The crocodile then burns up the seed and says it will never eat any again, maybe just a little bite though. This story is very cute but seems to be more for the younger elementary audience.

The author and illustrator of Watermelon Seed is Greg Pizzoli. This book is very light humored and fun. It‘s about a crocodile who loves watermelon, ate a seed, and thought he was going to turn into a watermelon tree, turn pink, and be put in a fruit salad. After he burped it out he said he‘d never eat it again and then ate watermelon right after. It‘s super vibrant and the colors are bold so it definitely would attract kids. #ucflae3414f19

It deals with describing the relationship between the illustrations and the story which I thought would be great for this book because there‘s so many illustrations that help form the story line. 5y

alexblanco An EL strategy I would use is to promote cooperation (small groups) because other students can help them if they are having a hard time. A UDL strategy I‘d use is to guide appropriate goal setting. This is important because some kids might get off task with such a fun story but it is significant to ensure that they have a set goal and achieve it. 5y
