No contest- my fav of the month was Iron Flame. Will probably come down to Forth Wing vs. Ferryman for me for top of the year- but who knows what Dec will bring! You can tell I love anything with dragons 🤣🐉 #2023readingbracket

Here‘s one more for ya @dabbe ! #SmilesOnLitsy 🤣🎅🏻🎄Hope it makes you smile!
@dabbe What an incredibly generous giveaway and congrats on the milestone! I love puns and silly jokes so here‘s some that I hope make you smile. I couldn‘t agree with you more- we def could use a little more cheer these days. #SmilesOnLitsy
A young girls gets a job as a servant to a witch. She can‘t go home- she hates her step dad so decides to stick it out. Trouble ensues and she finds herself learning about a world of creatures and magic she never knew existed. Plot, storyline and characters were great- the writing was just okay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars!
I‘m still on my Rebecca Ross kick! This one was fantastic! I love the way she writes females and her stories always include fierce lady friendships and show the importance of sisterhood. In this world there are passions that females can choose to study and our FMC doesn‘t know the truth behind her birth. There are of course warring kingdoms and, as usual, a hint of magic. A great love story as well. Book 2 here I come! #serieslove2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ok - I wasn‘t going to read it. I was going to boycott. But alas, I am weak and this was great. It reminds me why we are all so upset- his writing is just that good. Maybe publishing this novella will get him writing more! He could write book 3 on toilet paper and I would read every word. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For my #TBRtarot this month I finally read one of the many bios on my shelf! This was a good one filled with many stories about the making of the original series. Lots of what went on behind the scenes. Shatner even reflected on his relationships with co workers that weren‘t always positive. If you love the original show this is a must read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well that was quite the emotional rollercoaster ride. I feel like I need at least a day to recover!! Shifting alliances, wars, epic battles, and of course dragons! I loved the new characters and all of the twists and turns. And what an ending! Can‘t wait for the next book in the series! #TeamZadenForever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have never read this author before and I believe she‘s writing 7 different books based on the 7 deadly sins as demons. This one was about Envy and was super spicy!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ There were demons, Fae, magic and a game where everyone is playing for what they want most. I don‘t think I‘ll read the other books even though I did enjoy this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can‘t believe it‘s over! What did everyone think?? I still loved reading it this way! What a fun treat!
Rebecca Ross is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! I absolutely loved this story about falling in love through letters and the importance of the written word. A love story taking place during a time of war with a hint of magic thrown in. I can‘t wait for book 2 coming out in Dec! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting this super chunkster with the #RandomClassics group this month! I‘m hooked already- who knew it was so funny? I‘m truly loving the sarcasm. So far I think the two chapters a day is going to work great! What‘s everyone else thinking so far?
#readingbracket2023 #2023readingbracket I had no 5 star reads this month but my favorite was Sword Catcher. It makes it through to the next round for now but you know what‘s being released in Nov….Iron Flame - which I hope will live up to its expectations! We‘ll see!
#serieslove2023 The 3rd book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series wrapped up everything in a nice little bow. It wasn‘t as good as Garber‘s other books but I still enjoyed being back with Jacks and Evangeline. It picks up right at the end of book 2 so we see Evangeline with Apollo and the effects of opening the Valor arch. A nice conclusion to this series but I can see her continuing to tell stories in this world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Although predictable, this was still pretty good. A seer tasked with getting close to the vampire conqueror to kill him. But of course learns that he‘s really not the bad guy in the story. Lots of Goddesses, battles and of course secrets and betrayals galore! Some spice 🌶️🌶️ and ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.
#serieslove2023 New series from Cassandra Clare and her first “adult” novel! I always love her world building and this world of Castellane was fantastic. We have orphans, magic, kings, criminal empires, princes and assassins. Great main characters and a cliffhanger ending! You can tell there will be many books in the series! I‘m rooting for ya Kel! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m going to keep searching for a mom dedication this month but for now this will have to do for my #TBRtarot.
This was told in 2 timelines - an apothecary in 1790‘s and modern day London but in both there is a theme of women being abused and mistreated by men and what they do about it and how they are supported by other women. I enjoyed it and really loved the female characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This new Kendare Blake release was really good! Mythical female warriors trained and sent to protect mortal heroes with the help of a goddess. There are lots of questions about loyalty and justice as well as some fierce lady friendships. Our FMC tries to change events that have been pre determined and I was rooting for her the whole time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@BarbaraBB #BBGiveAway What an amazing milestone and generous giveaway!
I‘m most excited for tagged book Iron Flame which is the sequel to Forth Wing coming out in just a few weeks! I‘m counting down the days!
I‘ll tag for a chance to enter the giveaway as well:
@Gissy @TracyReadsBooks
See original post for info!
This reminded me of Poe‘s “Fall of the House of Usher,” since the house itself is an important character. Our FMC goes to help her newly married cousin after she falls ill. Her cousin‘s husband and his family has a crazy family history and the house and surrounding area plays a major role in this story. I kept trying to guess the cause- vampires, werewolves, etc.. and was surprised when it was actually revealed. Still, the story dragged. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
#FallingforFallSwap #FFFS 😍😍🍂🍁🍃
Thank you soo much @dabbe for the amazing and wonderful treats! I cannot wait to dive into these perfectly fall themed books while drinking the delicious coffee! Thank you again and happy fall!!!

I didn‘t read any 5 star books this month but my favorite this month was this one. It‘s going to be hard for anything to beat Forth Wing for me, but we‘ll see what Oct brings! 🍂🍁🎃
I know I‘m late to this party but I finally read this one! Some great twists and turns and beautiful storytelling. I loved the surprising connection between Evelyn and Monique. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked this dystopian story of a revolution overthrowing one regime in the Seattle area and replacing it with one that may or may not be better. Our FMC Sonya is in a type of prison and is offered a deal for her freedom. This was really a story about self discovery and not being who society wants you to be. It was more about self love than romantic love. Interesting. Good but not great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars
#DraculaDaily Ooh exciting! What do you guys think? Are you going to purchase? I feel like I have to! 🧛🏻🎉📖
I was completely satisfied with the ending of this Duology! What a beautiful story of warring clans, elemental magic and the power of love. I was engrossed! The author really put me in this world and I loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#serieslove2023 Armentrout is an author I discovered during the pandemic when I read allll of her books so I always pick up her new releases. Her books are always spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Romance with the supernatural always in there. This is the start of a new series focusing on Hyhborn angel types and lowborn mortals. I always enjoy the love story and her FMCs and often feel the spice isn‘t necessary. But I‘m still going to read every book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
My #TBRtarot pick for Sept was a slow start. All the reviews said to stick with it and I‘m glad I did because about 1/2 way through I finally got hooked and couldn‘t put it down. But man could that have used some editing. Still, it was a very unique story with magical libraries and played around with time a lot. And WOW that twist at the end. I did not see that coming. Now I can‘t wait for the second book but hope I get hooked quicker! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#wondrouswednesday Thanks for the tag @Eggs !
🍁 Shakespeare naturally.
🍁🍁 the 1920‘s for sure
🍁🍁🍁 I collect magnets from every place I travel to- I have an entire wall of them. It‘s a problem.
I‘ll tag: @MaleficentBookDragon & @D_reader
#serieslove2023 As much as I was excited to be back with the Hawthornes, this was a low pick. It had 2 storylines both taking place after the last book. We see Avery & Jameson get involved in some kind of secret society with high stakes while Grayson is off helping his birth family. There will be another book after this one following Avery and Eve! It is difficult to capture the same magic as the original trilogy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars
Although it was a little slow in the beginning and it took me awhile to get into it, in the end it was worth it. This was a modern take on some of the Arthurian legends. Our FMC is searching for answers about her past, a way to save the people she loves and a sense of family that she never had. The twist at the end solidified for me that I will read the next book in the series when it comes out. #serieslove2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
❤️ this quote! So far I‘m enjoyed the Arthurian legend retelling.
#readingbracket2023 #2023readingbracket I read soo many goodies this month but Fourth Wing is easily going to be my favorite of the year…at least until Iron Flame comes out on Nov!
Dove right into one of my #staycation treats (thank you @Catsandbooks ) and absolutely found a new author to love. Immediately looked up her other books and ordered the 2nd one in this series. What a great story of warring clans, magic, forbidden love, and music. Exceptional storytelling and characters who you can‘t help but root for. #serieslove2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Haven‘t read my favorite poet in awhile so when I saw this I dived right in. A great collection of some of his most classic and famous poems that are both profound and sad at the same time. I‘ll be thinking about these for awhile.
“What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a great collection of short stories about immigration and family. Each one was better than the next. I read this to use in the college courses I am teaching this fall. I think these stories will spark some great discussions and essays about everyone‘s own meaning of home. I recommend to every teacher and non teacher alike! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow @Catsandbooks !! Thank you soo much for the most amazing #staycationswap! I can‘t wait to dive into the books while sipping my Whisky Coffeeeee! All of the Scottish treats are perfect and your handmade card is so beautiful. I appreciate it so much 🏴💝
This Fantasy novel focused on humans at a school in the sky who can use magic as long as they have enough “credits” stored in a talisman of sorts. There is classism and power struggles between those who live in the sky and those who live on the ground. There were interesting creatures and I loved how the author played with the idea of villains and heroes and the idea of revenge. Great ending as we wait for the next installment! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#wondrouswedneaday @Eggs
🎬 I love dumb comedy movies. Anything with Will Ferrell!
🎬🎬 Like everyone I just saw Oppenheimer and absolutely loved it. Very powerful.
🎬🎬🎬 I always wish for the same thing: health and happiness. What more is there?
I‘ll tag: @Gissy & @Daisygirl
The hype is real! I love it when a book is so good that you can‘t help but stay up all night reading it. That was this for me. It felt similar to Divergent and Hunger Games but with dragons, which, was fine by me. I loved the FMC Violet and her journey to find herself and her strength. I‘m def team Xaden and cannot wait for the 2nd book Nov 7th! Super 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
#camplitsy23 Woah that ending! Another great camp Litsy pick! I enjoyed this pandemic tale and it‘s dystopian feel. I kept hoping for a cure and for them to be rescued which is why the ending shocked me so much I think. A group of survivors stuck together for better or worse. I can‘t wait to discuss the revisitor more and that ending next week! ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars!
My #TBRtarot pick for August was a low pick for me. It was very difficult to get past the dialect, but I still found myself wanting to see how this strange mystery played out. Set in 1930‘s England a young girl is fascinated by the arrival of a stranger. There were tons of fierce females, interesting families and a dying button business. This mingled with a hint of superstition and folklore made for a weird atmospheric novel.⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!
#serieslove2023 This took me awhile to remember who all of the characters were as it‘s been so long in between books, but then I was transported back into the world. Yes, everyone is a little older and have different priorities now that they have families, but stopping Lysander is a must. Darrow must do what he does best to save his friends, outsmart his enemies and protect what he built. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!
@Catsandbooks your package has arrived and now the waiting begins! #staycationswap! Thank you so much!
#athingaday Thank you sooo much @DinoMom !!! So thoughtful and generous of you. I‘m in love with the pens 😻😻😻, stickers, wax melts, and bookmark! Made my day! 💗
Another good #camplitsy23 pick! I enjoyed this RomCom about a writer at what is basically SNL who falls in love with a celebrity guest. The book is mainly about the question can a hot celebrity fall in love with your average person? Would love to try out this theory with Brad Pitt 😉 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars!
My #DraculaDaily peeps- look what‘s coming! I watched the trailer and all of the Demeter scenes are fresh in my mind since that‘s what we‘ve been getting and reading all month! Couldn‘t wait to share this with you! Here‘s a link to the trailer- what do you guys think? 🧛🏻
