Pickpick

Absolute 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 pick for me.

I‘ve been going through this book super slowly, taking notes and going back to certain chapters again & again. It‘s been an incredible help in finding my way into being a therapist.

I‘ll probably keep it close, just reading a chapter here & there.
Real role models are such a rare gift & Yalom is definitely one as a therapist but he‘s also such a mensch, it shines through in all his books 🔥

Crazeedi I have partial credits toward masters in counseling, I think I'd live this book 4y
CoffeeAndABook @Crazeedi Yes, I think you really might love it! Or live it, whichever you meant 😉 it‘s super inspiring and entertaining as well. Another book I can really recommend by the same author is 4y
Kalalalatja Thanks for tagging me, I‘ll definitely try and find it! 4y
CoffeeAndABook @Kalalalatja I thought of you & that you might like it!! Hope you have a great day ☀️☕️ 4y

🚙 Road trip to the original #McKaysKnoxville as part of my mom's birthday. It was so crowded browsing was near impossible. We're tucked into the hotel for duration of the storm. And back at it again tomorrow.

A compassionate look at the relationships among therapists and their patients. Written for newly-minted therapists but a refreshing read for seasoned practitioners and an intriguing look behind the curtain for nontherapists. While I don't agree with all of Yalom's views, I appreciate his discussion of the beauty and healing power of the therapeutic relationship. It's certainly why I do what I do each day.
