Although l started the year with a bail, January has actually been a good month. Here are the phisical books l finished.
The non-fiction about the Weimar Republic had been languishing for a long time.
Not shows The Neverending Story, which l hope to finish today

Cathythoughts 🎉🎉🎉well done 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Yay!!! Lovely pic!! ❤️ 6y
JazzFeathers @Cathythoughts Well, yes, l'm quite pleased with myself. Before joining Litsy, l only dreamed of reading that many books in one month 😆 6y

Pickpick

This was my last read for January- and though it started a little slowly for me, and ended a bit too abruptly- was a good way to finish out the month! David is an authentic narrator albeit not always the most likable but I wasn‘t ready to say goodbye by the end! #Stats #ReadingResolutions @Jess7 #JanuaryRecap #NewYearReads @bookloo @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #Bujo

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Beautiful ❤️❤️ and wow!!!! That‘s awesome!!!! (edited) 6y
TorieStorieS @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thanks so much!! I had fun past my bedtime putting it together last night after squeezing in the ends to my last two reads!! 😄 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @TorieStorieS you did an amazing job!!!! I wish I were artistic!! It‘s gorgeous ❤️ 6y
TorieStorieS @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ☺️☺️ Thank you!! I have lots of washi tape and stencils- so it makes it fun to have reasons to use them!! Thank you so much for your kind words!!! ☺️☺️ 6y

41 TOTAL! I've been looking for new ways to track & present info, so here is an experiment. I've got reading method (mostly print), content format (mostly graphic due to #letsgetgraphicweeklongreadathon), source (mostly library), etc. I checked 6 books off my #mountTBR shelf, gave an equal amount of 3/4/5 star ratings & read 51% books written by women. Gotta work on that #POCauthor stat-32% isn't good enough. See comments for recommendations! ⬇️

Natasha.C.Barnes Absolute favorites of Jan: The Idiot, Private Citizens, Exit West, White Tears. 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes Best Of Graphic marathon reads: Here, SuperMutant Magic Academy, The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil, This One Summer, any Giant Days, anything Lucy Knisley. 6y

DrexEdit Fabulous! Love the pie charts! 😊👍 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Wow!!! Love it!!! 💛💙💛💙 6y
readingwinds This is a fantastic way to visually breakdown your reading month. My pies would be a bit wonky as I did not read as much and all my books came from the library, but I might try this out. 6y
hes7 Yay! 🎉 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @readingwinds Well you certainly don't have to do them all, there are so many different trackable things. I'd never even think to track where the book came from but I'm trying to get through my #mountTBR so I will want to keep tracking how many were owned (acquired 2017 or before) and how many were new (acquired in 2018) 6y
LiteraryinLawrence This is so cool! I‘m thinking of starting my own #bujo for 2018. I could start with my 2018 stats. Do you have any suggestions for how to get started? Is there a kind of journal most people use? Thanks! 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @LiteraryinLititz I just started last September, I can tell you what I use. I have a notebook from Rhodia (the webnotebook I think) that looks like a moleskin but the paper is better, but it's also STUPID expensive. I have some great cheapo plastic stencils from Amazon that work great (sold by a million ppl, they're literally the same). I use color pens from Le Pen and Staedtler and Tombow colored markers (cont) 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @LiteraryinLititz definitely get the Tombow if you can bc so many markets bleed through but these you can hardly see at all from the other side. And washi tape! Washi tape is the best. 6y
DivaDiane I love the graphs! I just started a Bujo in December, but it‘s REALLY basic. No pretty colors or Washi tape! 6y

January was a good month! Not only did I read 11 books, I also was able to scratch a few off my 2018 reading challenge lists, I'm 3 books ahead of schedule for my Goodreads goal, and I finally reread some childhood faves during #ThrowbackMarathon. Unfortunately, I haven't been very good at keeping up with the photo challenges, but hopefully February will be better! #ReadingResolutions #Stats #NewYearReads #JanuaryRecap

BookishMe Awesomeness! 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks That‘s awesome!!! Alias Grace is on my shelf and keeps giving me the 👁 lol Did you like it? 6y

katrrosee I love your journal! 😍 6y
emilyhaldi The Alienist is definitely one of my favs of the month too!! ❤️ 6y
IamIamIam I love The Alienist too!!! Sorry to hear The Little Prince was your least favorite. 😔 That's one of my favorite books. 6y
Quasifesto The Little Prince is one of my favorites. 6y
ofbooksandme I think The Little Prince is one of those books that you love or are sort of "Meh" depending on when you first read it. It's one of the first books I remember reading alone and I have many memories attached to it, so its also one of my faves. I don't know what would have happened if I read it now for the first time. 6y
BarbaraBB You still have to read In Cold Blood? Seems a perfect choice for when you fly to England. Such a page turner! 6y
Kalalalatja Looks like a great month 👏👏 6y
Mdargusch I was really disappointed I didn‘t like The Little Prince since so many people love it. The drawings were charming though. Maybe I‘m too much of a cynic? @IamIamIam @Quasifesto and @ofbooksandme 6y
Mdargusch I‘m starting that book next @BarbaraBB! It‘s a reread for me, but it‘s been so long ago that I read it, I really only remember that book was so dark and haunting. 6y
IamIamIam I kind of love the fact that you sound like the pilot a little! 💜 I think it's so special to me because I read and translated it from French in high school. Being younger, it all made sense to me, plus I had grown up watching the cartoon on Nickelodeon. Being older, the fox and the men on the asteroids resonated with me more than the prince's innocence. To each his own! 6y
JaclynW I didn't really care for The Little Prince either. I keep thinking I will reread it. Maybe I just read it at the wrong time. I can't seem to get motivated to read it again though. 😏 6y
Mdargusch I‘m glad I‘m not alone @JaclynW 6y
