Read this book in grade school and it opened up the wonderful work of poetry, and the wonderful world of Langston Huges work.

Death as a narrator and character... Yes please!

shawnmooney I'm reading it now too, and very much enjoying it... I do have a love – hate relationship with the narrator, though… :-) 8y

I learned so much and hate it when Mary Roach books end. As always, the footnotes are the best part.

shawnmooney If you're wondering what to read next, here's a few titles suggested by Mary Roach herself! I would most definitely's second her recommendation of The Portable Veblen! http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/12/books/review/mary-roach-by-the-book.html?smpro... 8y

Not my cup of tea. I need a medical story to be novel or told from a new perspective and this was not it.

Bailed😣 I know so many people who love this book I thought I would try it again for a book club, but it's not for me

Megabooks This is the only required book I did not read in high school. #notafan 8y
