Bought this when I visited NYC last year (to see Madonna!!) and today I'm feeling quite wanderlust-y. I haven't read this book yet but I think I will start soon.
This looked like such a good book and the cover was lovely. But it was awfully written, I just could NOT. So I left it at the airport's "flybrary" for someone else to try.
Oh I loved how this book was written. And: a map!! I've never really been interested in Iron Age and Roman-era lit but this was so good. The magical element was well-done. I need more of this book. And it needs waaaaay more attention.
I'm a little obsessed with book dedications, and this is spot-on. Coconut is a South African book about the complexities of growing up black in post-Apartheid South Africa - but it's so relevant to other countries, too.
