Yes to putting in place rules so that men could have equal opportunities to women if the script were flipped.

We fight for equal opportunity for women, why wouldn‘t we do it for men?

The question is honestly getting it wrong. We shouldn‘t be trying to establish equality. We should be trying to establish equity for men & women, that says to me that both genders will have what they need to perform on the job to the best of their abilities.

With some of the current hardships and challenging situations of grief and loss I‘ve been navigating through, I‘d say no to the opportunity to be famous.

When you‘ve lost people in your life too soon as many times as I have, you value people over higher status in society way more.

Slajaunie I would say no. I like my privacy. 5d

No no no and NO!

To part one and part two of this question.

So ableist that it‘s even in here.

In sickness and in health. Period. End of story.
You made a lifetime commitment to that person and they made a lifetime commitment to you.
You don‘t just get to choose to peace out when circumstances become such that they aren‘t your ideal scenario.
That‘s not true love.

ljuliel In both cases you‘d have to look at it sensibly.Having previously worked in the medical field , either one of those conditions would demand round the clock care. Would I keep him at home ? No. We have a good care facility nearby. Logically, we‘re not rich, so would still need a paycheck coming in to provide that care, medication, equipment, etc. We‘ve been married 42+ years. I‘m in it til they cart me out in a box 📦..not THAT box ,this one ⚰️ 👇🏼 5d
ljuliel We‘ve discussed events such as this since we‘re old. I‘ve already told him to put me in a place where someone can be there with me, while he can still have a life. I wouldn‘t expect him to stay here 24/7. 5d

Yes, I‘d do it.

It‘d be a test to the relationship for sure, but you only truly know someone when your relationship is tested. So while the explained changes & challenges would be trying, being tested in this way would draw the two of us closer if the relationship is meant to last.

In regards to the language, ASL if it can be considered an official language (I think it should be!) but if that‘s out, probably French because it‘s gorgeous.

Question 11: If this one implies that officers will adjust their behaviors in regards to racism and use of excessive force while out on calls, I say yes, I‘m all for it. However, if you are back at the station doing desk work of some sort, I do not need you to show me those tasks.

Q12: Yes to the 100K.
Because there‘s no restriction as to how I could use my money to make me healthier while holding on to the 40 lbs.
100 lbs is asking too much.

BookNAround I can get paid to put on weight? I‘ve been doing it for free. 😂 5d
ljuliel #12. DOGGONE. I‘ve put on 40 pounds in the past few years. Wish someone would‘ve offered me the money to do it. I wouldn‘t put on any more. It‘s much easier to Add than Subtract. 5d
Amiable @BookNAround LOL! 😄 5d

I‘m gonna go with no on this one.

Hinting that it‘s genetically engineered makes me not trust the health of the heart from the pig or the pigs health prior to the transplant.

Too many uncertainties involved to make me feel confident that the new heart from the pig would ensure that I actually lived longer.

Differences of opinion? Explain your thoughts!

ljuliel First, I‘d have to meet the pig 🐖. I‘d need a better explanation from my doc on what they do with that pig to make it genetically engineered. Next, it‘d depend on my age at the time and where I was in life. If it were right now, I‘d probably say to let the pig keep his heart , I‘d order a last meal, and check out. But....on down the road , if my current annoyances were resolved, I‘d tell them to give the pig HIS last meal . I need his ❤️ 5d
Amiable Having seen first-hand what having a damaged heart in need of a transplant does to a family member while they sit around waiting for another person to lose their life so they can get that other heart, I say yes in a heartbeat (sorry 😬). If the genetically engineered pig can give me more time with my loved ones, I have zero issues with it. 5d
PirateJenny Absolutely. My dad had a valve from a pig and it gave us 5 more good years with him. And 2 more not so great ones. I eat meat. I don't believe in testing on animals for beauty--that's been done and we know what's safe. Not enough humans donate organs, so we need to get them where we can. (Yes, I am an organ donor.) 5d

Part one, I‘d make a plea for the people.
People‘s lives are more valuable than works of art, and people have the creative ability to create new works of art that will become important historical pieces that reflect their time and experiences.

Part two, same thing.
Those 1 million lives can create new music and literature that reflects the time they lived and the experiences they had.
There is no life that can‘t teach us something.

Nope.
No I would not.
It‘d take a lot of spite and hatred towards a person for me to turn around and hate on them like that.

Bookwormjillk No way. That kind of thing ruins lives. 2w
Laura317 Nope. I couldn‘t do it either. 2w

ljuliel Nope. There may be people I have had differences with , but I think it‘d be pretty low to trash them online OR tell others a bunch of crap trying to get them to side with you. If you‘ve got an issue with someone, either confront them privately or keep your opinions to yourself. (edited) 2w
KathyWheeler I don‘t hate anyone that much to be that spiteful. There are people I don‘t care for, but I would never try to ruin their reputations either online or in real life. (edited) 2w

I would feel sad in both scenarios that technology is replacing the creative process and the beauty that can come from the human brain and heart when they work in accordance with one another.

wanderinglynn As to the second question, I wonder about that. More intelligent maybe. But more creative? I think that‘s an excellent debate point and a good thought experiment to discuss what is creativity and where does it come from. 2w

Outlawed.
I want to watch athletes accomplish their various feats by their own sheer will and strength, that‘s the beauty of any sport. You‘re watching what the human body is capable of when you put it to the highest test.

wanderinglynn Since countries/sports groups might pay big bucks for performance-enhancing drugs and that pharmaceutical companies develop drugs primarily to make a profit, what if I‘m developing these performance-enhancing drugs, pharmaceutical companies discovered cures or even treatments for serious diseases all stemming from performance growth-enhancing drug research? Diseases that might not otherwise get funding? Would that change your answer? 2w

I miss getting to connect and hear from you all directly on a regular basis.....so here we go again with daily questions.

For this one I‘d definitely say all motorized vehicles, as I‘ve only been a licensed driver for a small portion of my life. While I probably would not enjoy living without a car much, I know how to make it work. But I suppose there would be an added challenge because everyone else would have to do without them too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Adults hockey practice was cancelled Saturday morning, so I‘m hoping I can finish these two reads before the end of the weekend for #24b4Monday, accomplishing just under 21 hours of reading total!

It‘ll be the most I‘ve ever done, and I really need the distraction from real life stressors and sense of accomplishment by the end of the weekend, so here‘s to hoping I have the mental stamina and attention span to make it happen!
