Laugh out loud funny and I never have that experience.

I loved this book. The characters were quirky, weird and fun. The theme of community and second chances resonated. The writing was so beautiful.

“Can goodness win? Or do good people always get shafted, evil being more reckless?”

The plot was violent and I‘m not a huge fan of that, but the dog. The dog. I fell in love with the dog. He was a minor character but I also enjoyed the main character and his struggle. Overall I really like Zuzak‘s sweetness as a writer-the love he has for his flawed characters.

I loved this book. I volunteer for a humane society so the plot intrigued me. The characters were quirky and sweet. I was so thrilled to read an uplifting book. I‘m looking forward to reading more by Ellen Cooney
