My partner wrote a book! It launches on Monday. I'm so proud. Its a niche thing, about reticulated pythons, but is so well put together and pretty pictures. The front cover is one of my babies.

Mageborn | Stephen Aryan
Bailedbailed

Had to bail. Didnt want to as was quite early on, but the writing is amateurish at best. Will try again at some point when I have more patience.

Treasure island reading by the Carribean sea. Not a bad way to spend the last day of my holiday adventures. I loves a good classic I do.

My partner and father in law have just built me a bookcase! Not quite the library I always dreamed of, but it's a start. One alcove at a time.

I have never picked up a Jane Austen book, and I'm ashamed. Now to right that wrong.

Pickpick

Not my usual read but glad it was recommended as a book club read. Eleanor is an intriguing and lovable character who took me on a rollercoaster of emotions from smiling to feeling a bit teary eyed. A great exploration of the trials of living in today's society. Brilliant read.

Finally finished it. Very different to anything I've read so far. Harry August is an intriguing character, with wit and a great sense of humour. So many twists and turns led me never to know what was around the corner, making this a refreshing read. Got a little slow in places, but overall an excellent read, with a fascinating concept about time, and the lengths people go through to understand who they are.

The Taming of the Queen | Philippa Gregory
Pickpick

The first half was quite repetitive. But when I was about to put it down and give up the second half surprised me. I found I could no longer put the book down. Kathryn Parr is not a queen I know a lot about and I didn't realise how amazing and influential she was for women. This book explores women's struggles to become more equal to men in a thought provoking way in the eyes of Kathryn Parr. I'm glad I continued. Now need to learn more about her.

Life of Pi | Yann Martel

Pickpick

Just finished. Found it dragged on slightly longer than needed, otherwise excellent. A tale of a boy that has his morals and beliefs tested to breaking point. Very thought provoking, and i find Pi to be a very interesting character.

Lost a most missed loved one recently. He introduced me to a whole new world through the written word. He had so many books this is not even a fraction of what he had, but i have saved as many as i could. Love my library house, more than just books.

drokka I'm sorry for your loss. 💜 6y
