While I've always been a reader I am new to the world of booktube and bookstagram. So I had not heard the hype over Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend and her three other Neopolitan Novels. It came as a 'brilliant' surprise to me. The simple, beautiful writing and addictive story line had me hooked. I'm nearing the end of this huge (figuratively and literally) classic. I'm honestly loving it, and I'm not sure if it's the translation or Tolstoy's writing, but it doesn't feel dated.
