Feedback | Mira Grant

"Feedback" returns to the zombie-filled world of Mira Grant's "Feed" trilogy to tell a story of a different set of bloggers over the same time period, condensed into one book. Her world is so fully thought out that there is clearly more to explore, even after writing several additional novellas. I can't think of another author who considered the impact of rose bushes around zombies. Not my favorite ending, but a good story.

The Family Plot | Cherie Priest

"The Family Plot" was a lot of fun - "Salvage Dawgs" at a haunted house. It has all the aspects of a traditional haunted house, plus characters who were aware of what was happening and took smart steps to deal with things. Of course, having a plan doesn't mean things go right...

Louisiana Longshot | Jana DeLeon

"Louisiana Longshot" is the first book in a fast, entertaining series. The heroine is a fish out of water and the town's quirky residents are well developed and individual. It's set in small town Louisiana instead of the Burg, but I'm pretty sure anyone who likes Janet Evanovitch's Stephanie Plumb books will enjoy it.

Exo: A Novel | Steven Gould

This book is much better than the cover description. I loved the first in the series, "Jumper" and this is the first book since then to really take a specific idea - the ability to teleport - and push it to what amazing things could be done with just that slight change.
