The Last Move | Mary Burton

I was disappointed. This is categorized as a mystery/thriller, but it wasn‘t really. You know the killer early in the story and there was no big twist or reveal. There was one small twist, but it wasn‘t jaw-dropping. Everything was very predictable, even the little bit of romance, and it wrapped up in a neat little bow.

I started off loving this and eventually, I couldn't wait for it to end. The story was original and well written but got bogged down with detail. It was WAY too long and I felt it was very repetitive. The ending felt rushed, there was all this build up and then it was over so quickly. Also, the little bit of romance felt forced and in my opinion was totally unnecessary.

The audio for this book was a little rough compared to the more recent ones. James Marsters didn't have his groove yet. But it's still a great start to one of my favorite series.
