Amazing book! Loved the entire story and the flashbacks/flash forwards. Beautifully written and kept me on my toes the entire time. Loved every second of it.

6th book of 2019. Finished: 3/13/19

This book was completely out of my comfort zone. I typically don‘t reach for sci-fi books but was glad this was chosen for book club. My favorite part of this book was the aliens‘ decision to stunt the humans‘ evolution by crumbling their basis of science. Overall, the science in the book was at times too in-depth, but really liked the plot.

Only wish was that the translation didn‘t cause character confusion.

5th book of 2019. Finished: 3/10/19

Loved this book. The encouragements throughout the piece were my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised at how much the author grew from the first book to the second. His writing evolved and poems were much stronger. This book serves as a reminder for women to love themselves first.

4th book of 2019. Finished 3/9/19

A quick good read. Some of the poems felt inspiring and empowering while others highlighted the pains of breakups. Really enjoyed reading poetry from a man‘s perspective.

Some of the poems started to feel a bit repetitive, wish that a broader range of emotions was explored.

3rd book of 2019. Finished: 2/23/19

Really enjoyed the book in the later chapters. I enjoyed the poems about self love more than those of her being consumed by her love for a man. Great reminder that we should love one another and ourselves before giving your heart away.

Perfect book to read as I am in a new stage of my life

dalma_st_paul I completely get it. I cried on the first part from sadness I smiled and cried from relief and feeling uplifted on the last part❤️ 6y
Mayra_yaji @dalma_st_paul definitely was a rollercoaster of emotions , but the ending really tied it together in a very empowering way 💕 6y
dalma_st_paul @Mayra_yaji Absolutely. I felt very powerful after only reading it. I can only imagine what Rupi Kaur must have felt like. 6y
Mayra_yaji @dalma_st_paul would love to read more about Rupi‘s process! 6y

2nd book of 2019. Finished 2/13/19

Graphic, depressing and too much bad. The story that should‘ve highlighted friendship was overshadowed by the constant abuse they suffered. Unnecessary at times. Wish more of their relationship had been revealed.

Hopeful about the ending
