Halayda means eternity
There is a fire burning within you, but it is a slow burn. That shimmers with heat, waiting only for a breath the fan it to life
Magic is a heartless bitch, and she had me by the throat for years
Using magic meant it used you back. I just love this idea for magic. Equivalent exchange!!
When I think of the world in Soul Finder, I think of that quote from The Tempest by Shakespeare, “…Hell is empty and all the devils are here.” Looking at the world through Nadia‘s eyes, her world is really horrible, filled with horrible people doing horrible things to other horrible people....But like the hope in Pandora‘s box, Nadia seems to be the hope at the bottom of the box for many people not just herself. www.nhilsedtempus.wordpress.com

He was damaged. He was crazy. He was unpredictable and reckless, and in this stupid moment, he was mine.
Death magic, blood magic slips easy down the throat...power calls temptation's demand
This quote is one of my favorites out of Patrica Brigg's The Hob's Bargain. I just love it!!
Dragonfly is about finding yourself and your strength even when everyone including yourself is against you. It is written in a historical fantasy type setting, with third person point of view. It intricately intertwines Viking (Northman) and native American ideologies with our main character having one foot in each world 4/5 stars www.nihilsedtempus.wordpress.com for full review.
I have no words. This book left me breathless and as silent as the main character Lark was in the beginning of this wonderful tale. Harmon has a way of telling a story. The tension, angst, and love is so strongly communicated that my heart broke during a few scenes. The way the characters feel and act just resonates throughout the tale. Every action has a consequence, and every word has power. For some of the characters, that is literal.
The premise is a dystopian where the world ends, not with a bang. It ends with a neo-conservative man overthrowing the government. But Simmons never seem to explain the hows or the whys it happened? Which is strange considering the character states in the beginning that she lived through the whole thing. This dystopian novel comes across as an angsty road trip across the states with a love interest where it‘s all crazy people and no morals.
Harmon has a way with words . This is swoon worthy.
Gabi‘s voice was strong and insightful at times. But the story seemed overran by the romance. I liked the thrill and suspense trickled throughout the book. I really liked the theme, and it was very consistent with the story. I‘m more character development verses romance.
Can I borrow this book from anyone via kindle lend? Somehow I read the second one not realizing and I can't afford to pay for the book right now and I have a desperate need to read!!
Wow the picture in this book are gorgeous and completely matches the detailed and expansive world that is in this book!! ❤️ #currently reading Sunborn Rising!!
This book is a sweet little nothing book. The story just oozes a happy tale even amongst the conflict. I think it because the tension was never quite there. It had moments that came close to having tension, but fell a shy away. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and consider a favorite.
t feels kind of episodic, with small actions and resolutions all being interconnected into the big story. Caine weaves the tale so tightly; you can only see it in glimpses. I thought it started off slow, plot-wise and picked up after the first three chapters.
This is definitely a trap. Soulless draws you in, and then drops you into a pit of live wire emotions. Maree takes you on a death defying stroll through a gritty world. Soulless is a well thought out premise with an excellent world build. It's story more than makes up for the heart wrenching cliff
I really loved this book, the only downfall is that it is not long enough. The length is only 142 pages. The amount of world building, fleshed out characters done in so little pages was astounding. From the first page to the last Khanani draws you into the world & tosses you out craving more.
MOA was like being hit by brick in the face. Khanani has done it again, stole my heart with her immersive storyline and strong female lead. Her detail writing and flow kept me hooked from page one to the end. It slowly gives world details such as geography, politics and the world‘s rich history.
