This was sweet and moving. Though short, it didn't feel like a children's book at all.

I read it because I wanted to know the ending, but there were times I considered giving up. A few interesting plot twists but not my favorite.

Good, but tragic. Good pace, interesting story, well written characters. Reader on the audiobook read slowly enough that I was able to double the speed- the slow reading kind of makes me nuts.

The characters were well rounded and I liked the flaws they had. Fun, light read. The reader of the audiobook did a good job.

Very much a second in a trilogy kind of book, but the ending was good and I'm excited to read the third.

I don't like short story collections, but I loved this. Really fun.

I don't like short story collections, as a rule. I have found the exception. This is divine.

Loved it. Around chapter 5 I realized I wasn't putting this book down until it was done. Great book, excited to start the next one in the trilogy.

It was really well written, an interesting story, just hard to follow as an audiobook for me, which made it a challenge to come back to.
Worth the time, but I think that's important to say.

Timely and quick, it's a good look into the early years of a trans girl. I think it could be really helpful for mid grade readers to develop empathy for trans people.

LiteraryAnecdata That book was awesome! 8y

This was awful- but I couldn't sleep and curiosity got the best of me. Felt like most of the book was her trying to prove she isn't dumb.

Foragingfantasy Good to know. I wanted to read it, but I've since lost almost all interest in all things tv related. 8y

I liked it, but I wish it hadn't been so rushed. I feel like there were more stories to tell within this story.

I made it through this in a week, even though it's 12 hours long, because it was compelling. The stories are so great and her descriptions of people are so good that you really get a feel for them. The reader does a good job, except my husband did laugh at her Spanish.

I have listened to seven hours of this book in the last two days, and it is gutting me. Really good so far, though particularly poignant given this season's finale.

Slow beginning, but the second half moves fast and keeps a good pace.

The main character is kind of abrasive. I think it's part of the plot. Still, it gets tiresome. Audiobook has a good reader.

I liked the insights a lot, but even more so, learning about all the books and movies I want to read and watch now!
