I have not devoured a book so hungrily as I devoured this story. Best rom com I‘ve probably ever read. The characters felt like people I‘ve met like old friends (how cheesy but true!). I swooned so hard for Tiffy & Leon their love story was so genuine and felt effortless. Time to binge through the tv series now ✌🏼

Magical, richly written with vivid detail. My one flaw would be in the romance storyline which lacked depth and did not pull me in.The portrayal of grief and loss through a magical lens was soothing to read. I want to take a trip to this house of sorrowing stars myself to see the gardens Cartwright has lusciously crafted.

A fresh take on vampirism and finding one‘s self. A look into an archival mind and the impact belongings have on those who own them and those they are passed along to. The weight objects hold is portrayed heartbreakingly (in a good way).

How to Stop Time | Matt Haig

Pickpick

How to Stop Time took me away on a heart warming journey through the many different lives of Tom Hazard. It reminded me of The Invisible Life of Addie Larue at times in tone and theme but probably because it is a story across centuries dealing with a form of immortality. The ending left me wanting perhaps a little more in relation to the character arc of the daughter but it was wrapped up nicely. You can‘t help but root for these characters.

The Very Nice Box | Eve Gleichman, Laura Blackett
Pickpick

If you liked Eleanor Oliphant then you‘d enjoy The Very Nice Box. I was expecting twists and twists I received, all very surprising and satisfying for a romance, mystery contemporary novel. Narrators voice 10/10 entertaining, would highly recommend especially if anyone is in a reading slump.

Heartbreaking and beautiful, couldn‘t help but love these messy characters that Rooney writes so well. Has the most “happy” ending out of her three books, my heart was still shattered but I loved it.

Song of Achilles | Madeline Miller

This book stood true to the hype. I couldn‘t put it down, and it really did bring the Achilles mythos to life. Madeline Miller never disappoints.

SamAnne On the list for next month! 3y

A fantastical journey of stories and the power they hold. The middle dragged but it led the story to a very satisfying end. Amazing prose, very vivid and magical. #pieandsnackbookclub

The fluffy summer read I needed after tackling Bram Stoker‘s Dracula. Besides being horribly cliche it was fun and light and just what I was looking for. Also steamy oh my so steamy!
