Breath of Fire | Amanda Bouchet

Pickpick

A great continuation to a great series! I really love Ms Bouchet's worldbuilding. I loved the first book more, but still, this one did not disappoint. If you are a fan of A Promise of Fire, you'll probably find everything you loved about that book here too.

Mehso-so

It was a nice thriller, a lot of different characters, different points of view and the action was fast paced and never left you bored. Still, I didn't find it to be anything special and the mystery at the center of it was kind of half-baked. But a nice thriller that you can finish in a few hours.

It's an amazing book. I was expecting something funny and irreverent, but it touches on so many important issues and it has so many stories about the choices we make and the ones we don't make and about so many injustices, it really makes you feel.

Pickpick

Simply amazing! This was my first Ann Patchett and I was really impressed with her voice. The story is so complex, warm, heartbreaking, funny... It centers on a lot of characters over a long period of time, but all of them were fleshed out and in no moment was I bored. The pieces just fit together perfectly.

lynneamch Pretty picture! 😊 7y
Schmetterling @lynneamch Haha, I mostly read on kindle, so I cannot really take a picture of the cover. But I loved this picture, too 😊 7y
Spiderfelt It is a collection of her nonfiction essays. I stopped in the middle to read her memoir * because I wanted to know more about her friendship with Lucy Grealy, and then continued with the rest of Happy Marriage. Then I went back to the beginning and read her fiction in chronological order. It is all so good. 7y

I was waiting a long time for this book and I picked it up as soon as it became available. I love Anna Kendrick and if you're a fan also, you're going to like it. Sure, it was not as fun as I'd expected, but it was cute and easy to read and genuinely enjoyable.
