98% of our genome is non-coding, and thus used to be considered as "Junk". They are like the Dark matter of our genome. But shining lights on those Dark matters revealed that they are not entirely "Junk", they have important roles to play and any disturbance to those regions will give rise to serious and very bad consequences.
Must read for people who are even slightly interested in knowing the world of DNA.

The Mind's Eye | Oliver Sacks
post image

This is a brilliant book by Oliver Sacks, a renowned Neurologist, which explores the world of 'Vision' through the experiences of several Visually impaired people. This book tells you how sensation and perception are different in so many levels. How blind people live in a 'Visual world' using their Mind's eye, how lack or sudden gain in stereovision change your daily life, how people with face-blindness mistake common faces other objects!
