But why is insecurity considered a weakness? It‘s just being human. We all have things to feel insecure about. No shame in it. We work on it, we get better. It‘s all part of the experience, right? Doesn‘t our true strength lie in the fact that we know our flaws, that we‘re self-aware, that we want to improve?
Wow
I‘m crying. A lot. Bright Side was not what I expected it to be, it was so much better. Even though my heart is broken I can honestly say I enjoyed this book from the bottom of my heart. The characters were fun and quirky and the plot was great. I thoroughly enjoyed Kim‘s writing and hope that many, many others give Bright Side a chance.
“Books were a necessary escape I always gladly jumped into headfirst.”
Reading Obsidian for the (idk the amount) of time. Still in love. 🥰
“Because we‘re born fighters. We come into this life, kicking and screaming, bursting with all the energy. There‘s no shame in having to fight. There‘s no shame in having to kick and scream. There‘s no shame in being a warrior. It‘s the most honorable thing you can do for yourself. Pick up a sword and fight. ”
I feel so attacked 😭😭 I need a Dr. Simon Blackwood
His eyes are red, like he actually has a heart and sadness encompasses him. “I know.” He clears his throat. “I know what we have is real. It‘s the most beautiful emotion I‘ve ever felt, loving ye.”
Grief is like being underwater, but never being allowed to come up to breathe.
I think Variant Lost had an interesting plot, however, I felt like the readers were left in the dark with too much information. I finished the book and I still feel as if I don't know why anything happened. I feel like if more information was given it would have gotten me hooked enough to continue with the series.
"We were six shades of weird, all stitched into the same cloth, and without even one of us, the whole thing would unravel."
"I've always found that the most beautiful people, truly beautiful inside and out, are the ones who are quietly unaware of their effect. The ones who throw their beauty around, waste what they have? Their beauty is only passing. It's just a shell hiding nothing but shadows and emptiness." - Daemon
I'm absolutely in love with all Jennifer L. Armentrout books and the fact that there is another one that I can love brings me so much joy. 📚💛💬
Um, so I'm actually at a loss for words. I don't usually read books that involve witches because that's not really my thing, so I started this on a whim. I've gotta say, I'm glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this from beginning to end. I loved all the characters and the way the author wrote. I recommend this to lovers of Fae and other fairytail(ish) things. The only issue is that the second book will be released closer to the end of the year.
"Sometimes people need someone to hate. To look at as the bad guy. Life is hard, and making someone be the villain makes you forget that your entire existence is just a crapshoot.
Bad things happen to good people. Bad things happen to bad people. It‘s random chance. But blaming someone makes it easier"
“They won‘t tell you fairy tales of how girls can be dangerous and still win. They will only tell you stories where girls are sweet and kind and reject all sin. I guess to them it‘s a terrifying thought, a red riding hood who knew exactly what she was doing when she invited the wild in. ~ Nikita Gill ~”
