Book one in the series but still part of the Lux series…if that makes sense. I truly enjoyed this one, seeing old characters, meeting new ones. This author is creative and this is a perfect slow-burn romance. If I had one complaint it‘s her over use of the word “creepy”. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wasn't sure what I was expecting but this was not it in a good way. I enjoyed watching Evie come to the realization that nothing is as it seemed.
April Book 23/25 #LitsyLove
A good stress reliever with flirty aliens and lots of adventure. This book was a spin-off to a series which I haven't read yet, but I did not feel lost at all. The book stood well on its own and was a great escape for the times.
#AnyWayYouReadathon pleased with my time so far and finished a second book.

I have a snuggly dog and I'm reading about flirty aliens tonight. Thank you Jennifer L. Armentrout for the escape because I am turning off the news and real life. I am not having it! Bring on the tea and blankets!
This story was beautifully written. From start to finish I was hooked. It was masterfully layered with the perfect amount of witty banter, romance, secrets, and hilarious characters-both new and ones that we know and love! There were secrets revealed and some questions left unanswered that had me wishing for the book to never end! This is just the beginning of another epic journey in the Lux/Origin universe
I am not sure how I felt about this one. I am a huge fan of all of the authors books. But I think this one is my least favorite. It is slow going and it takes a while for the plot to really unfold! But at least in the end a good mystery is revealed!
Probably a book which is exactly right for the target age group. I found many early scenes & convos seemed pointless which impacted the pacing. It's not until the second half that things begin to pay off. I also disliked the protagonists at first. Luc is arrogant, annoying, & controlling. Evie is slow on the uptake at first, but I appreciated the realism in her. As she gets wise, the world becomes much more interesting & made me want to know more.
I had not read the last series set in this world, and I definitely felt like that made this book harder to get into. The main love interest acts in pretty disturbing ways which are supposed to be charming? And the information came super slow at first but then got dumped all at once.
I'm absolutely in love with all Jennifer L. Armentrout books and the fact that there is another one that I can love brings me so much joy. 📚💛💬
I just re-read The Darkest Star. Still love it as much as I did in November. Luc is my kind of guy. 😎
I‘m choosing “Pick,” but it‘s not a super strong pick (like 3.5/5). This is the first book in a new series, but the world and some characters are from another series, and I think she did a good job establishing the world & history for those who haven‘t read the original series (like me). There were some really funny parts, and other parts dragged. It also needed some tighter editing (missing words, redundancies) but was still a fun read overall.
📖 I happen to be reading The Darkest Star now, the cover of which fits really well!

🎶 When You Wish Upon a Star... and now it's stuck in my head!

That‘s a pretty good goal 😆 🌮❤️
I loved the Lux series and was excited to read more of Luc‘s life and catch up with some of the characters from the Lux series.
I will say I figured out the twist pretty early on but that didn‘t take away from the story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5⭐'s. I loved this book so much!! I always JLA's books so I wasn't surprised that I loved this. Luc is amazing, I've always loved him! Can't wait to see more of him in the future.
Book mail! Beautiful book mail too. Looking forward to seeing how @Merethebookgal photographs this one! 😉 #bookmail
I loved this book so much! In fact, I loved it a lot more than I expected to. Check out my blog to read my review!
I really enjoyed this book and I think Evie and Luc are much more intriguing than Daemon and Katy were. Thankfully Luc isn‘t as terrible and sexist as Daemon. The writing and plot in this book is such an improvement.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I devoured this book! Easily gets 5 stars! I think I'm in love with Luc 😍

Sorry I've been so absent lately, Littens! I'm still here reading, I've just been working a lot and October is my favorite month, so I always over extend myself. Crazy fun weekend- a fantastic haunted house, and a My Favorite Murder interview for a grad student documentary. #murderino And now I'm reading about sexy aliens. Life is good!
I'm on page 141 in this #arc of The Darkest Star. Really, REALLY liking this book! 🌟

Not gonna lie. I think this cover is too plain.

I won another book from #BookishFirst for posting a review of the sample they provided. I must be writing pretty good reviews, (which I thought I was awful at writing my thoughts out for books) lol This book sounded so damn good and I'm super excited! Hopefully I keep this lucky winning streak up! 😁
I just had a tonsillectomy yesterday and am on bed rest for a week - good thing my night stand is stocked with a stack of new books to keep me company while I recover! And, by the way, that IS indeed a plush tonsil next to my book stack! 🤣 My wife is hilarious.
