“What are you still doing here, Dad,” Jack asked as he strode up to the counter.
Arlie turned and looked at his son. "Working, what are you still doing on the island?"
"Finding dead bodies."

“I am not your ‘dove.‘” Whatever that meant. “You weren‘t supposed to be here until tomorrow morning,” I said tersely. “And stop staring. Shapeshifters usually show better manners.”
“You are so beautiful, I can‘t help myself. And I am not like most shapeshifters.”
Torin Kerr is kicking ass and taking names, just as we expect. This book is the conclusion to a couple of mysteries we have been waiting for. A good ending to the Peacekeeper series...but is it the end?
If anyone needs advice or guidance for how to get your life together, solve a personal relationship issue, or how to be a better person, this book by Dr. Jordan Peterson has something for you. Not only the how, but the why, of human biology, socially, and cultural influences on our lives.
I‘m going to make a confession. I never read the bad guys point of view. With Harlan Coben's writing I don‘t need to. His main characters are all I need. He does an amazing job of making the reader care about the MCs. RUN AWAY is not different. Great read. Someday I hope I'll be even half as good a story teller as he is.
The shock of his touch and the feelings the contact triggered made me jump back. “Keep your hands to yourself unless invited.”
“But will you, Charlotte? Will you invite me?”
“Depends,” I lashed out with my right foot and swept his feet out from under him. Koering landed hard on his butt. Dust and the fragrance of crushed vegetation filled the air.
I looked down at him with one eyebrow raised. “It depends on whether you respect me or not.”
Even though written in the 1980‘s about 1960, still relevant especially with the event in 2019 in Hong Kong. A great read.
I‘ve read every Mercy adventure. This one more than bordered on horror. I skipped some parts, too much for me. Maybe as I get older, I don‘t like the grizzly stuff. Not bad read other than that.
A long, deep warning emitted from low in my throat. I put all my pent up emotions into it as I kept up the pressure and waited. He stilled completely, it was his choice, and he knew I was serious. Finally, he whined an acceptance. With a last growl, I released his throat and stepped off him.The wolf shifted into his human form and he slowly stood, rubbing at his corded neck. “You play rough.” His tone mocked me as his smile widen.
I liked the Nevada series. Now the storyline has moved on to her sister, Catalina. Good plot, but I found it hard to get into Catalina's obsession for the hero. I also couldn‘t warm up to the hero. Maybe because we don‘t know much about him. I‘ve never been a fan of celebrity worship so to me, didn‘t feel real. The story has moved forward, hinting at a secret which will be revealed in a future novel. I think I‘ve figured it out, and interesting.
He was waiting. Like a predator stalking his prey.Every time I met his dark eyes, I felt something. It was hard to describe, but even after ten months I still had feelings for that man.
“You weren‘t supposed to be here until tomorrow morning,” I said tersely. “And stop staring, shapeshifters usually show better manners.”
“You are so beautiful, I can‘t help myself. And I am not like most shapeshifters.”
How did I know he would say that? He took another step forward.
“It‘s abundantly obvious you‘re not,” I said dryly and as the words left my mouth, I wanted to bite them back.
The real story didn't start at least for me until Ranger was front and centre. He os the most interest character. What Morelli and Ranger see in Stephanie is not clear. She does not grow. I will pass n any more ot these books. They are all the same, and ther are better stories out there to spend my time on.
In the Vorkosigan universe, every story has something extra. A mystery to solve, a political situation to best, something. This story no. However it is an interesting read all the same, and Miles makes an appearance. It's not the ending I would have expected for Cordialia. I guess I wanted more.
Excellent second book of the new series. Torin is great as always! Tanya Huff never disappoints!
Reading Tanya's second newest novel. I loved the Valour series. This next Torin Kerr series is shaping up nicely. Strongest female hero, and I say hero for a reason, I've ever read. The diverse cast of characters keeps delivering surprises too. Excellent sci-fi.
If you've read Iron and Magic, not too much surprises you here. Conclusion is telegraphed well before the end. Would have been nice to have a couple of twists. That said, still a nice ending for the series. I'm not much interested in the sweep series. If there are Erra and Julie stories, I'd be interested.
I am only n chapter 5, this thriller is so good. The little things that make a reader think, "what about this?" Linwood Barclay gets it. His main character asks the questions we want to ask. Love the way he builds up suspicion. But am I right?
Somehow, I managed to miss reading the first book in the Myron Bolitar series. I'm glad I found it now. The boys in their prime with the dastardly Jessica.
Entertaining read!
I am currently halfway through this book and I am finding it a great tool for writing thrillers. Lots of good advice and tips.
All the Kate Daniel books are good. In this one, we get to know Andrea better and what drives her.
I wonder if these short stories were scenes cut from the books. If so, good editing.
