1st book towards #SeriesLove2023 & this is my first 5⭐️ of the year. Book 4 in the series & lots of big things happen! This series has gotten better with each book so far & I cannot wait to see what‘s next.

Kate navigates shapeshifter nonsense as her past comes back to haunt her. Good monsters, lots of action, we finally get some 🌶️, there are a few genuinely gruesome moments, really adds to the tension.

Also plotted out my #SeriesLove2023 selections. I left it off if it was 1 upcoming/recent release for an ongoing series, like Anita Blake book 29 😂 or ACOSF
Now to get some actual reading in 🥳

Sucker for this series ! Another entertaining read!

You know, I'd love more of the stuff about various diseases in this book, and we don't really get a solid idea why Erra shows up... but it's still a ton of fun.

Man, I love the development of the larger plot that happens in this book with the reveal of Erra and all the details about the Bible and Babylon and what they mean in this world.

I think I've finally got my wife to the tipping point of starting the series too. It's funny and easy to read and yet there's this underlying steady pull that opens out the scope. The mix of mythologies is bizarre, and yet it makes perfect sense in the context. There's a ton of relationship miscommunication and yet I don't mind, because the problem is rooted deeply in who they are; it makes total sense, and isn't a contrivance to drive the story.

It's fair to say I'm one of the few people excited by the opening of a book in which magically virulent syphilis nearly takes over a city, but it makes me happy.

Seems especially appropriate to reread this one now since, well, guess who got a perfect grade in their biostatistics & epidemiology exam?

At first I thought I was going to have to bail on this one with all the plague talk, but it wasn‘t too bad. Another great mystery and fight for Kate and Curran. I also love seeing their relationship progress. And I love learning more of Kate‘s background always.

Reread. I love this series so much

This book was very good. Kate has been exposed to more of her biological family, and also solidifies her relationship. My favorite character made an appearance to enact some revenge for the events of the last book.

I love Kate Daniels! These books are my guilty pleasure. Of course, there are the typical romantic tropes: the sassy, fiery heroine who defies the hero at every turn (which of course only makes her more desirable), and the hero who is the quintessential alpha male—the guy who has the power/strength/intelligence/looks that every other guy dreams of having. But their conversations actually make me smile and think “good one!” That‘s important!

This was the book that made me fall in love with the series. The world development, the character development and the really awesome story line make this books great. I love that Kate is finally forced to grow up and become responsible and that curren gets flushed out into a more complex character. From this book forward this series is amazing

Book 4 in the Kate Daniels series, and we get to meet some of Kate's family. Plague, romance, and conflicts abound in this cracking paced novel. Definitely recommended, but read the preceding booksfirst!

So in between reading depressingly depressing books about Hitler and achingly beautiful novels about being (Gilead, Home, Bring Up the Bodies) I am re-reading Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels books. I am liking them better than I did on first reading (unlike another tough woman who kills vampires--looking at you Anita Blake--Kate grows in ways that work for me) and recommend for anyone looking for kick ass heroines for winter reading.

Maybe my favourite book yet in the series! Now on to book 5 😊

#bookanddinner at the airport 😄 my flight is delayed so I have time to kill and decided to treat myself to a sit down meal! My book is getting to a steamy part though, it's a bit embarrassing to read in public! 😆

Starting! 😊 I'm ready to get back to Kate Daniels, might just binge read the rest of the series! Holy cow though, the covers for some of these books sure are bad 😆

When you spent the better part of two weeks obsessed with a series, you know it's good. This series continues to get better and I think this installment is my favorite so far. Awesome plot and characters. A+ romance too. 😝
