I don't want to exaggerate, but this may well be one of my all time favorite books. I read it about three years ago, and it still holds up perfectly. Zusak's words are like an elaborate painting on the page, every letter a brilliant brushstroke. It tackles the complex issues of morality and, of course, death. Having Death narrate the story of a young girl in Nazi Germany was an interesting take, and it worked. I love this story beyond words!
