going great so far
I bailed, but hope to come back to it just to finish the story. I was excited to read at first, given its significance in LGBTQ literature BUT…I started doing research on the author out of admiration and lost interest after reading her beliefs/comments towards different cultures and ethnicities. As a result…I lost interest in the book. #sad
HOLY SHIT, I loved this book. Excuse my language but I just really fell in love with this story. The way the characters were uniquely built but also related to each other like sister to sister, friend to friend, mother to daughter, etc. etc. LOVED THE SUBTLE YET STRONG FEMINIST APPROACH. Just all in all a great read, good plots, great characters, wonderful parallels. 15/10
I enjoyed the detail in this book, especially because I‘m a Texas alum and I felt like I was in Austin with the characters. Descriptions of scenery were spot on! Great twist, happy with the ending, buuut wanted more!!! I guess we always do when we fall in love with the story. 10/10 recommend.
back with a new read after a small mid 20s life crisis hiatus..😵💫😂😀❤️
Great book. Nice little twists. Loved the imagery provided by the author, felt like I was in the story.
I still have tears in my eyes. Amazing story, amazing characters. I am in love with this story and the truths in every page. Despite it being a fictional novel, it is 100% real.
“When you're given an opportunity to change your life, be ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The world doesn't give things, you take things.” “Make them pay you what they would pay a white man.”
loving this love story 💛 #bridgerton
I loved this book. That‘s all I have to say. The subtle poetry, intrinsic metaphors, and overall message of the story was beautiful. Louise Penny is so talented and I‘m so happy I‘ve met Inspector Gamache
snippets of serene silence in the morning are the moments most worth living for
I had a rough start to the week...work again tonight. But at this moment I thought to myself “what can I do to calm down and get by?????” I decided nothing would make me happier than a warm coffee and getting some reading done. So here I am. One bite at a time 💛
I personally...did not like this book. It was dark for me in areas I wish it had not been and the plot was good but I feel like at times it lagged. Aside from this, there were several typos grammatically and instances where the wrong character was named (need to find the exact page where this happened but it was confusing lol)
Almost bailed but wanted to see what happened. On a positive note, there were several surprise twists in the plot!
a little behind schedule but about to embark on my second journey of the year..:✨ #newbook #bookworm #myhappyplace
“But perhaps faith goes in cycles. Perhaps it just evolves. And it only takes a dangerous few to understand.” p. 164
The entire dialogue between the characters on this page spoke to me because it resonates with what I feel we as humans feel and go through. Life is a cycle, faith is also a cycle. Also, sometimes people capitalize on this and use it maliciously to manipulate others for personal gain. #theuglytruth
I almost stopped reading this book because it had a slow start for me. So glad I didn‘t...things are finally starting to come together. Don‘t you love when that happens?
Don‘t give up on your book ✨
