Couldn't put it down. If you love strong characters, inclusivity, and witchcraft, then you're going to gobble it up.

The Bodyguard: A Novel | Katherine Center

The chemistry was exceptional but the best part was the main character discovering her self worth and learning how to process her own grief and anger. It was actually really quite deep in some parts for a romance novel!

Delightfully absurd and unexpectedly naughty. A rousing good read from start to finish if you like high society, piracy, or both!

The Change: A Novel | Kirsten Miller

Incendiary. With powerful insights about womanhood, aging, and the atrocities men are capable of committing. It's like true crime meets magical realism - a truly addictive combination. I devoured this book in half a day.

All the feels plus a healthy heaping of 1920s jargon, a dash of history, and a thorough grappling of some tough subjects all wrapped up in a hearty cast of fully formed characters. Highly recommend the audio version because January Lavoy is a goddess and she does all the different accents flawlessly.

The cover makes this look like a kid book but it is surprisingly deep. Funny and heartfelt. It's a lovely little respite for anyone who feels like they are treated differently.

Much more dark and twisty than the fluffy book jacket makes it out to be. A fantastic read for tarot and Magick enthusiasts who love a good YA novel. I read it in a day and I'm sad that the sequel hasn't hit my library yet.

Cheesy? Yes, but in all the right ways. Surprisingly deep, also yes. This book doesn't shy away from exploring controversial and touchy topics. It gave me all the feels and I can't wait to read the next one.

What starts out as a seemingly tired retelling quickly turns into a book you can't put down. The character development is exceptional and the story keeps you guessing.

The writing style takes some getting used to. It reads like a stream of consciousness. The world building is really solid and different from anything else I've read. Character development and relationships build slowly which i think makes it more realistic.

Uncomfortable in a good way. Everyone should read this book.

I gobbled this book up in under 24 hours. I loved the writing style and the whole premise of the book. The character development was exceptional. The time jumps really helped keep the pace of the book and they weren't too confusing to follow.

The plot is very slow and I feel that the post- apocalyptic setting was very generic. The title of the book and the whole concept of banners doesn't really have that much to do with the plot. I liked the writing style and the descriptions. The ending was fairly predictable.

Excellent character development. This book brilliantly showcases the mixed bag of good and bad that lives in every one of us. The audio version is ridiculously amazing and January LaVoy is a goddess. Prepare to laugh and cry and to taste that bittersweet feeling when you near the end of the book and realize the story isn't over yet.

This book is a perfect pick for poetry month. It's also a great introduction to reversos and to greek mythology. My 6 year old daughter loved the telling of it and I enjoyed reading it too. There were even a couple myths which I had never heard of before. Don't skip reading the little blurbs underneath the poems that briefly explain the myths. They are very informative and that's where all the adorable wtf looks on your kid's face will come from.

This is me anxiously waiting for Fitz to find out that Bee has been kidnapped. Robin is really dragging the suspense out. Seriously, go get her already dude!

This book's pace is a remarkable combination of exquisite details, historical references and the relating of stories and events from the main character's life. It is utterly charming and I am especially enjoying the drool-inducing descriptions of food. It's a perfect read for a relaxed afternoon even you need to slow life down and breathe for a spell.

This book carefully walks the tightrope between never-gonna-happen-sci-fi and too-close-to-home-for-comfort. It's a call to action that will make you angry... but in a good way.

Make Magic! Do Good! | Dallas Clayton

A wonderful collection of poems reminiscent of Shel Silverstein's work. I loved reading it to my 6 year old. The illustrations are fun and colorful. The poems introduce concepts of acceptance, dreaming, making friends, making mistakes and so much more.

went along. Sometimes its virtues made it the envy of the world. Sometimes it betrayed the very heart of its ideals. Sometimes the people dispensed with what was difficult or inconvenient to acknowledge. So the good people maintained the illusion of democracy and wrote another hymn to America. They sang loud enough to drown out dissent. They sang loud enough to overpower their own doubts.

We're the unknown Americans, the ones no one even wants to know, because they've been told they're supposed to be scared of us and because maybe if they did take the time to get to know us, they might realize that we're not that bad, maybe even that we're a lot like them. And who would they hate then?

Long but well worth the read. Shout out to the most talented audio book reader ( January LaVoy) I've ever heard for flawlessly pulling off different voices for an enormous cast of characters - some even had accents! The storyline is absolutely immersive with an addictive mix of supernatural and mystery and a hint of romance. I love all the old timey jargon. I'm on the waitlist for the next one in the series and I can't wait!
