Overall I absolutely loved this book! I have it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars. I probably would have rated it higher had there not been so many typos. This was my kind of story and the perfect romance novel for me to kick of the summer with. If you're a sucka for romance...GO READ THIS BOOK!

‪Review: #EloquentRage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower by Brittney Cooper

"All these words from the seller, but not one word from the sold. The Kings and Captains whose words move ships. But not one word from the cargo. The thoughts of the 'black ivory', the 'coin of Africa', had no market value. Africa's ambassadors to the New World have come and worked and died, and left their spoors, but no recorded thought."

Donna_sBookMinute Insightful quote. Picking up a copy tomorrow. 6y

Kossola and his history has easily become one of my favorites so far. I loved that Hurston kept the dialect as he spoke it. I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook as I turned the pages of this historical piece and followed along. Robin Miles did an impeccable job bringing this story to life. "You unnerstand me" has easily become my favorite phrase of the entire book.

I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

The Blood of Emmett Till | Timothy B. Tyson

While heartbreaking to read, this is definitely a story everyone should indulge in. Emmett and his story is one that made history and is one of the most notable lynchings of its time.

This book was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me! This book has given my a lot to digest. Not only do I fear for the lives of people of color, but it also places fear in my heart for my loved ones. It's very apparent that not much has changed since the murder of Emmett Till.

This book was everything and more. Trevor Noah is quite hilarious and I enjoyed getting to know him on a deeper level. Definitely one to add to the must read list.

Chelleo He does a great job narrating the audiobook! 6y

This book was filled with so much knowledge, I really had to take my time digesting this one. I kid you not, I had over 80+ highlighted notes as a good majority of the words were things I wanted to remember and keep with me. I left this book feeling inspired and ready to conquer the world. It will definitely be one I pick up and reread from time to time. Happy Monday! @djbeverlybond @lupitanyongo @simonandschuster #bookstagramfeature

Finished The Coldest Winter Ever by @sistersouljah over the weekend and I don‘t even know how some of y‘all were reading this in middle school. lol This book was an extremely good read and just when I thought Winter was going to catch a break in life, another plot twist was thrown at me. More of my thoughts are on the blog.

BWRB Lol I don't think we were supposed to be. But it was so good! 6y

Finished this book (Whiskey & Ribbons by @leesacrosssmith) last night and absolutely loved it. It kind of reminds me of An American Marriage, however this beautifully written novel didn‘t make me want to hate all the characters. lol In fact....I loved each of them in their own ways. Definitely one you should add to your summer reading list. More of my review on the blog. Link in the bio. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #whiskeyandribbons #hcbt🐝 #hcbt

Chelleo Sounds good...stacking it. Glad to hear the comparison to American Marriage. I didn‘t like those characters either. Welcome to Litsy and #BlackLitsy too. 6y

Sing, Unburied, Sing was our April book of the month and I look forward to the discussion next week. I‘m not going to give any spoilers, but it was one I rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The story was interesting and Jesmyn Ward had such a beautiful style of writing that I fell in love with, as this is the first book of hers that I‘ve had the chance to read and look forward to exploring more of her works.
