So a couple weeks ago I was in Sicily visiting my partner. He lives in the port city of Messina. My suitcase coming home was heavy but worth it for these gems! Top two are Italian and Calabrian dialect translations of The Little Prince and the bottom right the Italian translation of Matilda. Bottom left some fem lit about how "women will remake Italy" #travel #femlit #roalddahl #abookforeverytrip #italian #thelittleprince #ilpiccoloprincipe

Oh Isabel Allende is so sexy in her book #Aphrodite A Memoir of the Senses which is a collection of delicious and sensuous tidbits, all told with Allende's magical and fascinating storytelling. The memoirs tell of the ancient and instinctal connection between food, sex and love. Deeply intriguing, unique and erotic, with feminist undertones. #allende

Hello! Sorry Ive been gone for awhile but Im back now. "Sunny California" is rainy, cold and foggy this last week. The perfect excuse for a cup of tea, a fire and a classic read with a protagonist that's even colder than the weather outside! #scrooge #humbug!❄☁☔

Finally had a chance to read past the first few pages of Rebecca. Which is perfect on this FINALLY fall day in California. The poetic descriptive power of Du Maurier's writing is just incredible. Can't wait to read more! 👻☀🍁

? I know its a little early to be getting a datebook but I just had to have this one. ??❄??
"This datebook is designed especially for Witches, Pagans and magical people. Use it to plan sabbat celebrations, magic, Full Moon rites, and even dentist and doctor appointments."
I love anything that blends my magical and spiritual life with my normal and daily life. Thank you Llewellyn!

Everything Is Illuminated | Jonathan Safran Foer
Pickpick

Foer's style is both poetic and magical, tragic and comical. The story itself is intricate (which can lead to some confusion if you don't pay attention) and intriguing. I was a little disappointed by the delivery of the ending, but only because the rest of it was so beautifully and uniquely structured. It is a rare book which exhibits both mastery of storytelling and creative use of language - the result is a literary masterpiece. Well done Foer.

I observed that the hero had small rivers descending his face, and I wanted to put my hand on his face, to be architecture for him.

? My mom randomly found this treasure of a book hidden away somewhere. I remember her reading it to us during Halloween. This copy is from my HER childhood. It has a note on the inside that reads "Happy Halloween Sharon, 1967" ???

Everything Is Illuminated | Jonathan Safran Foer

In time Brod could expect a sound beating every morning before the Kolker went to work.. She never ran from his fists, but took them, went to them, certain that her bruises were not marks of violence but of violent love. The Kolker was trapped in his body-like a love note in an unbreakable bottle, whose script never fades or smudges, and is never read by the eyes of the intended lover-forced to hurt the one with whom he wanted most to be gentle.

MrBook Welcome to @Litsy ! We hope you enjoy your stay, I think you'll like it here 😎👍🏻. 8y
