Bailedbailed

I'm bailing on this book for now. It's too serious and too much for me in the current lockdown climate. I need escapism right now. I'm not totally abandoning it as it does seem like a good book from what I've read so far. It's just not the time.
This was my #bookspin selection for April.

MaleficentBookDragon I totally understand. No heavy books for me right now. I'm reading the tagged book by Agatha Christie so I can watch the Amazon Prime series this weekend. Pure escapism. 5y

3.5/5 Stars!

This book was so interesting. In between travel and binging Outlander, I was able to invest into a story about the morally gray world of vigilante justice.

There are a few things I wish could change about this book, but it was still so entertaining. As soon as I hit page 250, I could not put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. Another book that probably would have sit on my shelves for too long if I hadn't heard people talking about how good it was. Thea is trying to deal with the murder of her cousin. When she is approached about being part of a group that does their own justice on men who hurt woman and never has been brought to justice. This book was a page turner and I wanted to find out what was going to happen next.

“It‘s a shame that sometimes even the strongest women are not strong enough to endure the wickedness of average men.”

Thea is trying to deal with the murder of her cousin when The Black Coats recruit her. A group of women who dole out justice to men who abuse women.

The story and the characters were great and I couldn‘t put this book down. I like the growth the characters had even when I wanted to smack them for being obtuse.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

That-Bookish-Hiker @hermyknee what‘s not to like about a group of women fighting for vengeance on gross men, right?! 😊 6y

Roses are red, violets are blue, if you hurt us, we‘re coming for you.

A powerful, thrilling, and deeply resonant novel.

Because when the line between justice and revenge is paper thin, it‘s hard not to get cut.
