I heard the author give a reading at a recent convention and have been so excited to dig into this hippo-cowboy adventure ever since. Also, I really hope they get Sarah to do the audiobook because holy goats it was such a stellar reading!

Starting this gem. I've not read John Kessel before but have only heard amazing things.

I adored this continuation of Gilman's world. The characters, Isobel and Gabriel, are vividly portrayed with depth that sucks you in. Gilman clearly did intense research for the series because the setting is a character unto itself. I will forever love this world and its characters.

I've been excited about this book since I heard about it on the Ditch Diggers podcast. A murder mystery in space? Sign me up! (Slated for release January 2017)

Peterdamien Oh my god, everyone has got to stop mentioning REALLY COOL books to me, my TBR list is going to explode. 7y
Peterdamien Also, I can't work out where I last heard of Mur Lafferty, but I kept getting the name confused with M.R. Lafferty, so it's forever remembered and jumbled in my head 7y

Reading this fascinating history of Japanese rhetoric for my final paper. It is always interesting to see how knowledge spreads across boundaries and becomes something new over time.

My history buff side, my love of all things weird side, and my inquisitive side have hit the trifecta with this baby!

I'm loving the psychological twists and dark alleys of these characters! There are so many ways this book could end, I love the suspense. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Love. Love. Love. I am head over heels in love with this book. This book spoke to me as a woman, as a geek, as a Marine, as a reader, as a writer, as a citizen of humanity. Do yourself a favor and read this book. And buy a few extra copies, you'll want to share this book.

ColleenLindsay I'm looking forward to reading this. 8y
booksabound I had so many moments of "Hell, yes!" while reading this. I can't wait to hear your thoughts @ColleenLindsay. 8y

I've heard this is a powerful read so I'm bracing myself. I know next to nothing about the Lebanese Civil War but I'm changing that starting now and thanks to this book.

When a new novel from Kelly Luce arrives everything else becomes secondary. I've been waiting to get my hands on this book since I read about its sale to Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

If you like Westerns and a sprinkling of genre, you will inhale this book. The story switches between 16 year old Izzy, the devil's new Left Hand, and Gabriel, her mentor on the road. The rich characters and history enhanced with some magic make this read pure awesome!

I've been craving some a good Western tale and decided to grab this off my shelf. Based on the first few pages, I have a suspicion this will turn into an all night read to finish.

I inhaled this book in a day. Hurley's background in historical and cultural academic study is threaded into every page. She's created a world so foreign and yet still familiar enough I had no trouble following character motivations. An exceptional middle book for this trilogy and not to be missed.

I'm just over half way through this first book in the trilogy and can't possibly imagine what the next two books have waiting for me. This book is mind-blowing. Hurley deftly weaves history, religion, and sociology into the world she's created.

This gem is a quick but powerful read. The author shows us a potential, and somewhat unsettling, future where the ideal can only be achieved with surgical enhancements and implants. I hope we get more stories in this world!

This book, simply put, is unputdownable. An urban fantasy set in Los Angeles, CA with some of the snappiest dialogue I've read in years. I laughed out loud, I read for hours without noticing the time, I loved every aspect of this book.
