Participating in going through some of the #manbooker longlist this year for the first time! I'm interested to see where it takes me!
With the stress of moving this week, this was the perfect 2-day read. Fun book with an interesting plot, but not a lot of depth. It was exactly what I needed this weekend!
I suppose at one time in my life I might have had any number of stories, but now there is no other. This is the only story I will ever be able to tell.
Happy 4th, litsy!
In the spirit of Fun Friday's started by @Liberty, here's my little pup who is almost smaller than most books 😜
"The Beginning of the End can feel a lot like the middle when you are living in it."
Picked this one up in vacation in SF. I can't wait to get started - have any of you read this?? The book seller I got this from was also currently reading which was pretty exciting..
Making my way through THE LAST ONE digital galley - and then on to one of these beauties. Where to begin?! (These are not all mine - don't worry)
"On their side, the dipping sun finds the earth rich and brown; trees tall and proud even in hibernation; hollies growing in green vigour. On the other side all growth is stunted, the soil barren, mixed with Soot, the puddles greasy with sin's residue, the air pregnant with its stink."
I've been prolonging this book for months because I love it so much, I want to savor Kroger's stories since I feel it's unlikely he'll release another (he's now president of a college in Oregon). If you love nonfiction true crime and law as much as me - do yourself a favor!
Finished this one earlier this week, and was completely enthralled with the voice of Joe. Intense, hilarious, and chilling. Can't wait to get to Hidden Bodies.
You guys, I don't think I've ever been this enthralled with the storyline of a book. So. Good.
