Best WWII novel since The Book Thief! Love the characters and descriptions.
One of the first book characters I ever wanted to exist in real life. A major icon from my childhood whom I still love today!

The characters were brilliant, but the story was flat. I wish the conflict went deeper than "not getting along with your parents".
I loved this book! Both siblings got stellar character arcs and tender romances. I'm so happy I read this.
I loved the characters and all of the religious talk, but the writing style grated on me. Did there have to be so many italics? Inspiring nonetheless.
Two things I love reading about: siblings and magic. A brother/sister duo get mentored by Nicholas Flamel and a few other "immortals". Awesome series!
Great characters and world-building from one of my favorite fantasy authors. I wish the series was way longer!
A marvelous book about one of my favorite historical figures and the people in his life. A great history lesson too!
It's anti-racism message seems too simplistic, but it still deserves the title of Great American Novel for its fleshed out characters and setting. 4/5 stars!
I keep describing this series as Princess Bride for science fiction. Hilarious and clever plots, great characters, and stellar writing make this a gem!
I loved this whole book and all of its characters! My favorite was Pilate because she was so courageous.
The book was great overall, but the plot was so bogged down in tiny details. I read Spark Notes WHILE reading this book so I wouldn't get lost!
I have these books at home, and they are stunning! There's so much detail in all of the characters and settings. I wish this series was way more popular!
Great series! This one deals with time travel and evil fairies. Love the fantasy and the well-rounded characters. A+ writing!
I'm so conflicted over this story! The characters were awful, but their relationships touched me. It's complicated.
Insightful reading! The symbols were powerful, yet subtle and unique. Irving can bring so much new material to even the most well-worn topics. He's a great author!
A collection of ten or so short stories. Creepy yet touching. Personal favorites: Yardwork and Retaining Walls, the first and last stories.
Sure, there were some close friendships, but I feel like most of the characters hated each other. Not a stellar read...
Even though this book was surreal and tragic, it showed a lovely sister bond. I wish it was more famous!
I loved how creative and clever it was. It put such a unique spin on so many different myths. Neil Gaiman is a fantastic author!
One of my least favorite books EVER. Florentino was immature and creepy, and none of the relationships in this book seemed romantic. In fact, this might be the world's least romantic romance novel.
My all-time favorite book! I love the March sisters and how much they care for each other. It always warms my heart.
I love it because it's weird and Vonnegut uses the most descriptive prose. He's one of the most original authors I've ever read.
Perfect! I loved the plot and characters. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but this is one of my favorite books EVER. Please check out this book and its amazing author.
Sure, the ending could have been better, but the rest of the book was so touching! You could tell how much the Fitzgeralds loved each other. I want to read more books by this author because she's great!
