On a Tana French kick--have now read all but #1 twice. Holy Foxtrot, she can write. She nails the teenage talk, as well as the pain & general nastiness of teenage girls. Glad to see Holly & Mackey back. The weird magic stuff was interesting--did not find it off-putting like reviewers did.

The neighborhood & the family felt so real. Tight plotting (as usual) but the answer to whodunnit felt less important than the understanding of place and people.

I liked being inside Scorcher's head after seeing him from Mackey's pov in Faithful Place. Layers on layers.
