Somehow ended up with a surprise early hardcover. So far, so lovely!

If Kell could smuggle me the sequel from whichever London is closest, that would be lovely
Why yes, I will take a book entirely devoted to trampling the patriarchy.
Good golly, I really appreciated how this book explored wanting different things out of relationships (and even making a change!)
I'm not even a huge fan of books involving space and I still thought this was great. Wonderful characters with distinct voices between points of view, intriguing settings and worldbuilding (you follow the characters on quite the journey through their galaxy, as well as social dynamics and tensions), fast pace, and plot twists with just enough hinting to reward paying attention. I look forward to future political upheaval! #sorrynotsorry
"I'd agreed to meet him here only to go over case details, now he was doing that infuriating thing where he'd inevitably guess my secret plans, and I'd have to murder him. In front of all these witnesses, no less. What a pity."

Just got this ARC in the mail. There's Velcro and everything.
"You want some bourbon?"
"I'm fifteen."
"What's your point?"
And this is all after Scarlett helps her 71-year-old pothead neighbor figure out how to emoji-flirt.
The things that make me laugh post-midnight...
"Please, I do not wish to be rescued by a gentleman. Could you find a farmer or a shopkeep--anyone not of the gentry--and then do me the great favor of forgetting you saw me?"
Page 3 and this story already seems eminently quotable...
I loved Willowdean's voice and honesty. Lots of complicated relationships, including those with the self, and characters worth rooting for. Overall, my heart was warmed. #gobigorgohome
I am left with many questions about synesthesia, but it's a fun perspective to bring to the story. A compelling mystery with twists and layers. These characters have a wonderful amount of attitude, and I'm excited to see how the series deals with the fallout from this first book.
Extensive adjectives normally make me twitchy, but this writing was beautifully executed. A great adventure story with intriguing characters and a cool setting. Pay lots of attention in the last third because the plot majorly thickens. 🌹🎪🌹
