I loved how Sue Monk Kidd declared her right to tell the story of their lives in a way she saw fit after learning who Sarah and Angelina Grimke was.
And, the bravest of them all is Handful, the slave girl who grew to be a courageous woman, who would one day make the daring decision to set her and her sister, Sky, free.
This book reminded me of my bravery, and courage as a little girl who sought to defy the odds mounted against me.
