my favorite book and my favorite movie. but what would've happened if gatsby wasn't the one who got killed? what would've happened if Tom got killed, would Daisy have taken gatsby back? or moved on to the next person to save her reputation? what about if Daisy got killed? would Tom be upset or move on quickly? would gatsby kill himself to be with her?

I did a report on this book for school and in the process emailed Ms. Shoup. i was comparing this book to on the road again by Jack Kerouac, and ultimately i ended up basically asking why she wrote this book, because it's not like most of her other works. She told me this was originally her friends idea for a movie, and the characters represent her nephews soon after her sister passed away, makes the book make more sense now kind of!
