One of the few lines I have liked so far in this book and it is someone else‘s quote.
Pretty much sums up my read for my first #novellasinnovember

There is always beauty in Victorian writing for me but Dinah Craik‘s writing is continually full of these beautiful lines. I am enjoying that extra depth in the writing and am so glad to have a new author to follow

What a great word!

I have a HUGE amount of reading to get done in May. Mostly because of my ridiculous habit of reserving way too many library books.
But this is the one I‘m most looking forward to reading this month.

So this left me with more questions than answers but I think that‘s because I have never heard of Margaret Cavandish before I opened this book
It‘s a great starting point as it gives a good overview on Margaret‘s life from start to finish. And luckily the author gives 2 recommendations of more comprehensive books about this really interesting woman. She also credits A Room of One‘s Own by Virginia Woolf for opening up Margaret to her.

I just posted my January Wrap-Up video on my booktube channel and announced this as my favourite book of the month.
This explores the idea that we all have a responsibility to protect the sacred sites of our First Nations people. It shows how the understanding of this is so innocently owned and understood as children and how as pressured adults that innocence leaves us.
It is powerful and well written and absolutely a 5-star book for me.

Thanks to Steve Donoghue on Booktube, I picked up my first Sherlock Holmes story at the end of last year. And ever since then I have kept coming back to these fun stories.
Thanks to #WhoDunItAThon I slotted The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes into my January TBR and have loved reading through the 11 cases.
I wasn‘t prepared for the ending of The Final Problem...but that didn‘t spoil my experience at all.
