Great book! Quick read and very entertaining. A story about a college student concern over his debt turned into a a great discussion about what we should want out of life.

Got my new library card, downloaded ebooks and I'm officially signed up for @24in48 this weekend!

Walden on Wheels is a memoir about a man who graduates college with a large amount of student loans, pays it off and then lives in a van to save money during graduate school. This is something I have been really excited to read and Ilgunas' style is very entertaining!

A tale with adventure, romance, magic and sisterly love. A great, quick read. This is also the first work of a former newspaper staff writer. Gotta support my fellow journalists!

Based on a true story, the book follows a mother abusing her young daughter for several years. The book is a quick read. I finished it in four hours. However, the ending left me angry.

"I went round to Daddy's shed and got a shovel and a swatch of burlap. I dug up the redbud, careful not to break the main root. I was real easy with it, whispering to it the whole time... It was surprising how light it was. It was so full of life, but no heavier than a finger."

"And it was that easy, that instant. In that moment she knew that she loved him more than she had ever loved anyone else."

This is a great read for those looking for a true insight into Appalachia. House uses descriptive storytelling to tell the story of Clay and other residents in Free Creek.
