so-soThis was a fun read — but what an underbelly in this small town! It‘s a bit dated, but that‘s to be expected. Hannah is frank and funny, and the mystery unwinds in a neat and tidy way that keeps you guessing but still more or less holds together. I didn‘t love all the sly pokes at people‘s looks and character, although the mother-hating cat was pretty funny. I‘d probably read another one in the series, just to see what happens to everyone.

pickI didn‘t read this in October but I have several Christmas reads from this series on my iPad. I figured I should read the first in the series to get introduced to the characters and setting. It held my interest enough to read more.
I don‘t usually read out of order, but I‘m making an exception with this and the Lucy Stone series for #BookedByHoliday reads.

so-soThis is a pleasant enough little story. Very quick and light, which is perhaps a little disconcerting for a murder mystery (I'm not used to cozies that are quite this...cozy). Not sure I'll continue with the series, but this was a fun diversion. The included recipes make me want to bake, but I'm skeptical about whether they'd actually turn out well or not.
Pretty spot to wait out my teen's field trip and listen to an audiobook. Lots of surfers and shore birds (and flies). Glad I brought my sun hat!

so-soI enjoyed Hanna‘s sarcastic demeanor, and who doesn‘t love a cookie bakery & a moody cat, but it honestly felt like a generic cozy. pickAn enjoyable but slow cozy mystery this one. Dairy delivery guy without an enemy in the world is shot behind the MC‘s cookie shop. Doofus of a detective gets the cookie shop owner to pretty much do all the work to solve the murder. Cookie shop owner apparently has a perfect IQ because she knows everything and her 4–year-old niece talks like she‘s 30. So I suspended reality a lot, but I enjoyed the mystery. #teamslaughter #buddyread #scarathlon
pickI enjoyed our #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter #TeamBook. It was a cute cozy mystery with yummy cookie recipes. I listened on audio, but think that I might actually have preferred to read it, as the voices the narrator used didn‘t mesh well with my mental image of the characters.
